Old time tricks and hacks.

You can use a rubber band on a stripped out screw if you can't get a good grip with the screwdriver.

Anti-seize is your friend but one drop will spread one mile.

You can use a string or shoe lace to pop knobs off that don't come off, string wont gouge anything or damage the knob and you can get a lot of leverage with it.

You can use a metal leaf rake as a hotdog cooker, cook 27 hotdogs at one time!

Stuck drain plug? use an air chisel on the edge of the plug and watch it just tap it right out. I had to use this on my pacifica that hulk Hogan must have put the drain plug in with a 37' breaker bar.... literally 10 seconds with an air chisel it was free. I spent 2-3 hours trying every tool in the book trying to get it off and the tech at work got it in 10 seconds!

Small engine repair: stuff some rope in the top of the jug to use as a piston stop so you don't damage anything inside the jug or piston.

Squeaky wiper blades: Sometimes the angle is off and you can use a pair of crescent wrenches to tweak the arm to straighten it. Had to do this on mine a month ago, new blades (good ones too not the $4 Walmart ones) and the driver side still squeaked, Few seconds with the wrenches and it was all good.

Squeaky serpentine belt, don't spray with WD-40 like most people do, that just makes it worse. Instead use baby powder. I would just put a few puffs on while it was running and no more squeaking.

Ok I think I shared enough secrets.

We have 2 E250s in our fleet that the nut is no longer welded on the inside of the oil pan. You can spin the drain plug all day long and it never loosens up... but they don’t leak. If we pull the motor to replace the pan, we’re putting a new motor in. Neither van is worth putting a new motor in.
But we still need to change the oil...

The solution:
Pull the oil filter and crank the engine. Let the oil pump push the dirty oil out. Install new filter. Fill with clean oil.

I don't understand how that don't leak..... It must be holding by a couple threads.... I'd be worried the plug will come out and then you loose all your oil and not know it until it's too late.
Its the government... we’ll just buy another one.

a dishrag or old t shirt is a great way to get the manual window crank clips off without damaging the crank or door panel. just use the rag as floss and go around the window crank shaft and eventually you will snag the clip.

I find most any industrial chemical and or fire kills bugs...

Except stink bugs. You can't kill stink bugs.

Then they just smell worse!

My plants eat them. Nepenthes are their primary predator.

Haven't had one in years.

Figured this one out on my own
Phillips head screw stripped out

Notice how it's kind of square?

That is a DeWalt SO2 driver/bit (?)

Worked on every screw I tried it on. 7 of 10 were stripped and i didn't have any screws to swap out because they are drawer handles for my daughter's dresser that i repainted. I will never cuss out a strupped Phillips head screw again. I will do this instead.

I have heard hamburger will quiet a noisy differential of that time enough to sell it.

Big surprise for the guy that gets to fix it...
cooked or raw?

Anybody got any jacks to remove ALL antiseize from window crank assemblies
a shot of gunk engine degreaser, then use brake cleaner to spray off the degreaser.

pantyhose for an emergency belt
