Old men own rangers!?!

I guess I don't notice them "Old Guys" cause I'm one of them.
Dave

I dont usually notice them either, I tend to see the truck and think "I bet theres some old Vietnam Vet driving that rig"

Some of those big caps get pretty nifty though, i saw one once that you had to take off your tailgate to use because it had a door on it that was about 4-5 feet high, like a little room.

Well, I'm 62 and drive an '02 w/the 4.0 which I bought used. I initially wanted a Prerunner, but didn't like the prices they commanded. I had one previously. I'm so glad I didn't buy the Toy. The Ranger is every bit as good looking (especialy with the 235's I put on it), has more power, rides much, much better (with the SensaTracs I put on it) and has extremely comfortable seats. I sold the 4 door Prerunner I had because I couldn't stand the harshness of the ride and the uncomfortable position of the seats. As for longevity, well, time will tell on that one.

I have my 99, no caps, those are for old men ha jk. I plan on using it as my work truck this year, to tow my landscaping trailer. It doesn't get good mileage but its small enough to get through neighborhoods nicely lol.

My moms minivan has more power than my ranger. The things a beast.

I'd say my mom's van has more power than my ranger too. I mean, My truck is a stock 2.3l and The van has a 3.3l v6. I'm sure it has a few more ponies than my Ranger. haah

Yea, i havent checked on the size of it, but im pretty sure she has a big V6 in it.
She roadrages quite alot too. Ponies and Rage isnt a good combination.
I told her she needs to get a Geo Metro :D

I've noticed that, aside from old men driving Rangers...the most aggressive drivers (and some of them are dangerous) are young girls in small foreign cars...they are always tailgating and yakking on their cell phones...

That is definitely true! I see them in mostly Sunfires, Cavaliers, Imports, and other small compacts.

Just yesterday, this girl in an S-10, probably 18-20, Flew past me (And i was doing 5-10 over the speed limit) and cut me off while smoking and on the phone. She was within 4 inches of my bumper..... I got on the horn pretty quick! hah

Same goes for my sister, but she's dangerous in her mini-van....

Yeah, My mom has a Town n Country, that has the 3.3l. Before this van she had a windstar with the 3.8l and that thing was ballsy! I used to drive it instead of driving my first car (Saturn SL2)

You have a quite a few Rangers in the family huh? Thats pretty cool!
My family has a lot of Mini-Vans.........

no my family just has alot of cars last time we did the math we had 10 MGs, 6 rangers, 3 1969 cougars, and my mom family (grandfather and aunt and uncles on that side) each of the six kids have one 66-67 dodge charger and my grandfather has 18 charger down on side of his garage. (its awesome next time I'm in iowa ill take a pic while standing at one end. just seeing 18 of one style of car and the other side is full studibakers and MGs and other cars he has collected over the years.)

I wish my family had something like that. I'm the only one in the family into cars and trucks other than my brother-in-law, But now that he has kids, he sold his nice rides.
My dad is a motorcycle nut (Harley's only). He has 5. One of which is a 10 second bike.

I'll be 45 next week. Is there anything wrong with an old fart like me driving this? :derisive:

Hell No! Haha, thats an awesome truck! My dad is 46 and I always laugh at him when he has to drive my truck, but he loves it, but any time we have to do work on it, he starts cussing at the body lift and the 6 in suspension lift. He always says I have never had to use a stool to work on an engine before, but he really likes the prerunner bar since he can use it to rest on haha. I guess he should be lucky I didn't have a 4x4 cause I'm sure it would be alot higher.

Thats a badass truck for any age! As long as you're not the kind of guy who does all the work for nothing, But I can tell from the picture, you USE it!
