Old men own rangers!?!

Buckeyes, im sorry to say this, but your Ranger looks like my brothers Nissan.
Cap & Color is almost exact.
Haha. His nissans a POS though, he paid 3000 for it and i paid 900 for my ranger, i ended up with the better truck.
cept his has 100k less miles... But those are country miles vs city miles, they wear differently.

My dad bought it in 94 new, and since he is a cop, he used his cruiser a lot and the ranger sat in the garage til I could drive. When i got it 5 years ago, it only had 30k on it.
EDIT: My dad gave it to me, so I got very lucky there and he also pointed me in the direction of TRS so it all worked out very well.

Petersen's had an issue with a chart in it that showed demographic data on the average age for the owner of a certain truck.

IIRC, the average age for a Ranger owner was around 50 years old.

I have one (age 21) and my g/f's granddad has one (age 70) so it looks like they are just a good any age truck. Usually the ones us young ones are driving are not so much stock any more. I also hear a lot about caps being for old men trucks, but I really like mine and don't think its very "old man" looking and mine is 2wd also haha
EDIT: Mine is the one on the right :)

nice trucks! i used to have one on my old ranger during winter. they are pretty handy. i just have never seen an old man in any truck with out one! and they are always those turtle shell-looking ones.

Thanks, yeah I know what you mean. I take mine off a lot, but it seems to be really handy to have. Plus my bed is empty, and doesn't function as a second shed as a lot of old man trucks seem too. No offense to anybody :)

Ahh. I see. I guess thats a good way to get a truck, haha.

Haha, i would say so. Worked out good for me. I just really wish I could go back when he got it and talk him into a 4.0 4x4 but I guess being 6 or 7 at the time, I prob wouldn't have been very persuading.

mine was like 250lbs of fiberglass, i always had to put it on by myself. so it only went on and off once a year! that was the worst, i had to walk it like 300ft from my backyard to the truck. it did add traction in the snow though!

Wow, not really sure the exact weight on mine, but I know I can lift it pretty easy. (never had to by myself though) The light bar added at least 40 pounds, luckily I can drive into my backyard and only have to carry it about 20 ft, and there is usually someone to help me and +1 on the extra traction, and if you throw some bags of whatever back there for more weight, they don't get all wet and nasty haha

mobil shed! all kinds of stuff they will never use!!! ha ha. my dad does that with his isuzu... hes had it for like 20years. he has like trouls and stuff, i guess he wants to be prepared when a brick laying emergency comes up... when that day comes, he'll be laughing, and we will all be screwed!:bye:

My dad has a huge jack in his, the things about 4 feet high. and can go up to about 6 feet on its own, with a slot for a 2x4 extension. Haha
I think he used it about 2 years ago to jack the roof up on our porch when he redid it, other than that its useless.

hey i am 17 and we've got the best spread i have an 86, my dad has a 96 and a b series 96 (he is 43) and my grandpa (86) has a 95, i have the only automatic and the only 4x4, so i think you need to take 4x4 vs 2x4 into concideration.
