old granny truck

hey guys.
when i purchased my 2000ranger xlt 3.0 litre v 6 auto tranny i was told that it had the towing package on it.from zero to 60 mph it takes a while,it runs smooth but is geared low. i dont tow anything so i would like to get from point a to b quicker.my wife has a 3.0 v6 auto tranny buick century and it blows my doors off.so do you think iy is the tranny or differentail or possibly both. thank you.

The buick has better power to weight and aerodynamics. I'll bet you can't haul a cord of wood in the back of the buick though.

Yah the truck outweighs the Buick by about 1500 pounds and it will do the 0-60 with that cord of wood in the back only a little slower as without the cord of wood. =>

so. in effect yes differential ratio. But. its a truck not a sports car => its also the 3.0 which is a bit of a dog. not that the 4.0 is going to be lots faster. its not. its just stronger.

You have a vehicle designed to move stuff. but not move it fast =>

thanks guys.i know what your talking about.i was kind of forced into buying this truck.when i bought it off the lot it had a fiberglass bed cover and some really dark window tinting.im surprised i haven't got a ticket yet.i live in phx az. and hate pulling onto the roadway in rush hour traffic with the pedal to the medal and still causing traffic slowing. thanks again for your replies.
