Can I put the drive shaft flange from my 85 b2s 7.5 onto the pinion shaft of a 2000 ranger 7.5

ok, only differance I can see is the plastic dust cover doesnt fit my flange, is it safe to leave off?

if you are refering the the plastic flange that covers the pinion nut the ide say yeah ditch it. hard to believe it still there. i know ive swaped arond my fair share of RBV flanges and havent had an issue however ive never delt with anything above 97 so the best answer is: swap it and inspect to make sure everything is 100% and then perform a proper shake down run if needbe.
