I have a 92 Ranger with a Dana 35 TTB front end. When I disassembled the front end of my truck this piece of metal was bolted between the spindle and knuckle. I've looked at a few diagrams and it seems like it could have been part of the splash shield or a separate dust cover just for the spindle. Could anyone give some insight to which it would be and maybe what it might look like. I'm guessing trying to find these parts might be a bit difficult at this point, but maybe I could make them.

That's what remains of the dust shield. It's job was to keep dirt, stones and debris out of the brakes. I'd replace it unless your truck spends 100% of it's time on clean pavement. It would look something like this:

That ring would have been the round dust cup thing, not the big piece Walt references… that bigger piece bolted to the knuckle of the D-35 TTB not the spindle.

None of my trucks have the dust shields anymore. They trap moisture and rust around here. The ones that weren’t already rotted out got removed when I had things apart.

I don't remember anything like that when I built my D35. Weird. Looks like it was made to shim the spindle out?

I think most of them got trashed over the years, somewhere I have one or two of the whole piece, it’s a dust shield thing. If my shed was organized I’d go pull one out and get a pic…
