FWIW This is a repair I'd be happy to do for members here, but I'm afraid that shipping to and from Canada would make the whole deal pointlessly expensive. I'll work on tech article, and if anyone else wants to be a part of that, let me know. I'm thinking it would be ideal if I could find a computer somewhere around here for photos, video or whatever. I'll check a scrapyard or 2 after the holiday here.

Edit: I see there are a handful on car-part, nothing nearby here but I'll make a couple calls. Alternatively, if anyone in the northeast has a dead computer they'd like refurbished, maybe we can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Quick interjection, and not to downplay what ya'll are doing, but for someone like me who's let more magic smoke out of boards than I can count (computer MB, I can build em', repair not so much lol,) how hard would it be to program a stand-alone ecm for an OBD 1 system? Is it even possible with the technology gap?

It’s been done. I know there was a guy on here running his Ranger off a MegaSquirt/MicroSquirt system but he hasn’t been on here in awhile
