My credo
To send it or not to send it, that is the question.
No not essential oils. What is your favorite type of motor oil to use in your RBV and is it synthetic or conventional, a mix of both, or is it just random oil that you have sitting, also what is the thickness that you prefer to use?

i use Valvoline 10w-30 fully synthetic with some Lucas oil additive

I buy 5 gallon buckets of conventional 10w30 at Tractor Supply... depending on the truck and the season, I might run it straight, or subsitute a quart or two of 10w40 in the summer (seems to help with noisy lifters.) I've also been mixing in a quart of SAE-30 occasionally because I have a shit load of it and need to use it up somewhere.

My Super Duty is the only vehicle I am more cautious with, I do run synthetic 5w-20 as per the owners manual simply because it has a trailer behind it 99% of the time.

I buy whatever is on sale. I try to stay close to manufacturer recommendations but will use anything from 0w30 to 20w50. I mix and match weights sometimes to try to get closer to correct.

SuperTech 5W-30 Synthetic.

My 98 3.0 has known nothing but 20w-50 the 20 years I've owned it. Currently running Valvoline Max Life 20w-50. I usually have nothing in the garage but 20w-50, so if any of the vehicles listed in my sig line need a top up, that's what they get. I run 5w-20 in my 04 Lightning, but top it up with 20w-50, usually motorcycle oil to boot. high zinc content. ;-)

Motorcraft 5w30 synthetic blend, I used Mobil1 in my 4.0 sohc and it helped the gas mileage a little because the engine was such an overcomplicated design.

In the ‘03, Mobil 1 5w30 since I got her. The ‘85 will run Lucas Hotrod ’n Classic 10w30 after break-in w Lucas break in oil. Ran Lucas trans additive and got 200k hard miles out of the transmission in the ‘03.

Whatever's on sale and synthetic or blend. Often Supertech synthetic. Usually 5w30, sometimes 10w30 in the summer.

The slippery kind is good.

same as most of the above... try to keep some slippery stuff in the crankcase... Some stuff gets the SuperTech synthetic, others get Chevron or regular SuperTech depending on store or what's on sale where... normally stick with 10W30, the new to me Ranger just got 5W30 since it's actually somewhat lower miles and why not...

In my 94 3.0, have used 5-30 Ford synthetic blend and Ford oil filters since it was new. My ole' friend now has 593,000 miles, recently switched over to Ford 5-30 full synthetic, and still using Ford oil filters.

usually 5w30 dino or high mileage dino oil... sometimes synthetic blend if it is on sale. when Rock auto has a deal on filters for a buck or so I will get 5 or 6.

I hate oil discussions but I will simply state this. I send samples to Blackstone and ran Mobil 1 5w20 for the first 6 or so years. Tests showed slightly higher than average copper and iron wear. I then switched to pennzoil ultra platinum 5w20 (super cheap on amazon) and subsequent tests showed iron and copper wear dropped below average. So now I buy pennzoil ultra for everything. 5 quart jug on amazon is 19.99 when on sale.

penzoil, usually the “high milage “ 5w30. its the same price as the standard conventional pennzoil so why not? motorcraft filters usually. the allis tractor gets shell rotella 15w40, wix filter. I have used rural king full synthetic in the hhr before. At one time it was just $12 for a 5qt jug. typically the 5qt of pennzoil is 15-17 bucks. not sure on the rotella, I usually get it in a 2-1/2 gallon container and I dont recall what I paid for it the last time I bought some.
