Nice to be here, great site!

The 281 Ranger guy is dong a very clean job of his 4.6 engine swap, I cant wait to see the finished product, although I hope he keeps the stealth factor with the dog dish hubcaps and plain jane exterior.
KT.

My Ranger has been finished for some time. Check out the Sept. '07 Truck of the Month. It really is a fun truck. Nobody expects to see that engine under the hood of a Ranger.

Greg,
Im especially impressed with your header fabrication.... Please refresh my memory and tell me what headers you started with and how much you had to farg around and change. For my '66 Mustang I used a 4.6/5.4 engine mount kit from TIN MAN Fabrications designed for street rods... it worked out really well.... what did you use? Im planning on keeping the A/C working, so hope fully I'll be able to use the stock heater housing, but if not I can always reach for an aftermarket street rod style system, which is what I'll be doing with the Mustang.

How is your driveshaft holding up?

Thanks for the help!

KT.

You know, i was looking at 281 rangers build again and just noticerd something pretty neat. That prototype intake you are using, BBK has an intake(which i currently have on my 87 stang) thats called BBK SSI-R intake, it looks almost identical to your upper intake minus the 2 openings for the TB. Didnt know if you have seen one of those or not.
Didnt mean to thread jack sorry heh, but good luck on your swap, i look forward to watching and reading the progress.

OK Greg, typical and true to form, I looked at your website and it clearly states that you made your own engine mounts and used COBRA headers..... DOH! I got a little finger happy and should have reseaarched before I typed...regardless, still agreat job. I happen to have a spare set of 04 Cobra factory manifolds left over (used BBK LT's on my Stang) and will probably give those a shot since they flow very well up to about 500hp.

Still, nice job and inspiring. I'd sure like to see more folks follow your ground breaking and swap the mod engines into more vehicles!

Personally, I'm chomping at the bit to dig into this one!

KT.

My cousin and I were all gung-ho on swapping a DOHC 4.6 into the '67 stang he has untill we learned it was gonna be WAAYY more cutting than we wanted! So we went with a 351 Cleveland instead :D

I like the 4.0l on my Ranger, but if I were to put a V8 in, it would definitely be a 4.6. I've seen one done in a I-beam truck already, so it is possible.
