As title mentions these following jack stand are under recall:

If you have Pittsburgh jack stands please check to be sure they are not under recall. Take it from someone that has been crushed in the automotive business, faulty equipment is the most dangerous thing we face.

ABOUT ****ING TIME.

They're pieces of sh*t. They're why I keep the jack under it as a safety. If I didn't do that, my 2011 would have fallen of the stands on its test nudge.

Whatever part I'm under, the jack follows me around as a backup. Not perfect, but works.

I do the same but then again I have a valid and very provable, because its happened to me, fear of being crushed again. Safety can only go so far But commonsense seems to be the best defense. The other 25-30% is quality equipment.

Thanks for posting. I think I have a 3 ton set that is affected sitting in my garage.....

I bought a pair of 6 ton stands about a year ago... better check them I guess.

My guess is most jack stands you buy now days are made in China with worn out tooling.

Safety third!

I guess I better check. I have two of the gray 3 tons and two of the gray 6 tons.

My red ones have an extra safety piece that you slide through an almost triangular hole that keeps it in the teeth of the sliding upright part. But those might have come from Northern.

Sounds like my 6 tons from Northern.

cant scroll the page to see the article, just the pic of red and gray stands. I think I have a 2 ton set from Home Depot.

Yikes. I've used HF jackstands for at least a decade. Never noticed any issues with them, but I'll certainly take a closer look before using them next time.

There is a number to compare. If you have the right (or wrong depending on how you want look at it) number they will give you store credit or a new set.

Given the date range I'm definitely not concerned about this specific recall. The truth is I'd just never seriously considered a jack stand as something that could be easily screwed up. Such a simple tool.

Mine are Walmart specials, but like PJ, I leave the jack under as back up
