(New Update With More) Pittsburgh jack stands recalled, sold at Habor Freight

Surprised haven't seen sweeping boycott China movements yet.

They have to know what we say about them by now.... Guessing our Truman show audience is half there.

Yeah, hey, wait, anyone know of made in USA ones?

Might as well stimulus....

I really need to research more American made stuff. **** China.
I looked at this in the mid 90s when I got my MVP Superlift Jack and Jackstands. As of that time, NO one made hydraulic Jacks or Jackstands in the USA. could be different now, and I hope it is. and even tho china made, my MVP jack and stands have held up for a quarter of a century... although the jack has been a pain in the ass to get it to pump up enough pressure to start lifting the effing car for the last 10 years... probably will replace it at some point but not sure what I want to spend and what is out there...

I've actually been looking to replace my craftsman floor jack. It's a bit older... starting to drift a little... and it just doesn't have the reach or profile required for a bunch of vehicles these days. Also... it's not a "rapid pump" style. Basically... it still does the job... but I was hoping to upgrade.

I had been looking at the Daytona jacks at Harbor Freight...I guess I'm not so sure anymore. I will have to look around and see whats available. I'm expecting to not find anything made in the USA.

I've been using the same norco aluminum race jack for everything for about 5 years now. I keep trying to break the damn thing but it refuses to die. It definitely is nice to be able to throw it around with one hand. My jack stands are bluepoint or more often what is commonly referred to as a big peice of wood.

Also US Jack and Weaver appear to still be made entirely in the usa.

Hein Warner was bought by Shinn Fu of America, so now a Chinese company and using Chinese components.

I need a taller set. My 6 tons don’t go high enough for the Ranger. Before moving away from the in-laws property, I had access to a set that were really heavy duty and just barely tall enough for my Ranger. Those stands would probably hold up a dump truck. I need some of those. (At the HF 3ton price)

My Harbor freight floor jack has been good. Make sure you top off the fluid in it and make sure you give it a good bleed before you use it. I’ve found whomever makes their hydraulic rams doesn’t put enough fluid in them and they aren’t always bled or bled correctly.

That being said, the links for US products that were provided might be worth a look.

I love my Napa floor jack.

Forgot to check my jack stands last night, I bought a pair of 6 tons ones in that time frame. Haven't had an issue with them.

I have two floor jacks, a Pro Lift and a HF 3 ton. The Pro Lift was scored from the scrap yard for free and just needed to be bled, works great. The HF one also works great but occasionally pukes oil all over but oddly keeps working. Little over a year old and out of warranty now. Will probably never buy another HF jack, they are trash.
