So there has been a lingering P0420. Dont know how to test the o2 sensor but i could tell there were a couple vacuum lines collapsed and falling apart so just replaced them before spending money on new o2 sensor. Got the codes read at autozone and its still there, along with two new ones. A P1443 about an evap canister or blocked hose which will hopefully go away soon because we replaced the collapsed vacuum lines.
The other one is P0715. And the one that I can't tell whether to be worried about or not. Some are saying this code equals real bad news with the transmission but the print off from autozone says probable causes are failed trans speed sensor or electrical problem. I just had the transmission rebuilt and put it back in about a month ago so it seems unlikely something is mechanically wrong with it.
So its looking like I should just replace the tranny's speed sensor? Any input would be helpful.
And anyone who has won the p0420 battle, any input would be helpful.p
