Ok here's my rundown 98 2.5 ranger motor ecu engine harness 01 explorer 5.0 with t5 behind it. I have an sct tuner and custom tune loaded onto it from my buddy but for some reason it won't load into the truck gives three codes 1019 1017 and 1009. I have other issues with it not wanting to crank over or even click have read on other sites no repinning of the 42 is necessary can anyone confirm this or have diagrams of the 42 on both sides? Thanks on advance kinda in a bind and beating my head against the wall trying to figure it out

You have to do some repinning. I'll get the info when I get back home...

Appreciate that man prolly reason why tuner won't hook in?

Just quick check here shown basically the same pins at the 42 connector. Got both diagrams here (not the 2002 but 2000 and the '98'. Started to make a comparision between the both and never finished the Ranger one. Pin 13 on Explorer for fuel cap, empty on Ranger,23 empty on both, 27/28 for message center and air ride, 32 empty on both. Other than that, show the same functions.

Fifth post has them both.

Something somewhere has to be different I can't even bump the starter at the starter selenoid

Anyone have the ranger 42 pin got the explorer one

Unfortunately I don't know the answers to your question or have those wiring diagrams, but I've always been taught to check the obvious first. Did you bypass the neutral safety switch or replace it with a clutch safety switch? Just the first thing that comes to mind since you are using a T5 instead of the 4R70W.

I've tried a couple wires that I was told had to be connected but no luck just checked the starter with jumper cables and its good so I will work my way backwards now

Ok in the 42 pin I have power to pin 42 and pin8 obd2 port has power have power at starter selenoid and at starter anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Truck cranks over still no luck loading the tune anybody had problems similar with theirs?

Could be one of many bad wires. Sucks to have to check them but any other ideas?

Check pin 33 on C115 (42 pin connector), this is the neutral sense to ECU. If the ECU doesn't see ground at this pin, it won't activate the starter relay in the bjb, therefore not allowing the starter to operate. Sorry for the delay in response, I forgot about this thread...

I do for the 42 pin (C115) and the ECU 104 pin (C202), but its the same that Dave posted in post #4. If you need C202, let me know...
