need help with center console idea

When you say you want to take the 40 off, do you mean you want to eliminate the passenger seat? That's what the 40 is. I assume you want to turn the 60 part into a bucket though. If that is what you mean, check out this write up in the tech library:

As far as a console goes, I personally think the Explorer consoles are great. I am going to get one as soon as I get the right color that is in good shape. I would like to incorporate a subwoofer into it.

yeah i have a passanger seat from and explorer in my 93, i have a "clutter catcher" cheap center console. got it from walmart best 30 bucks i ever spent.

Build ya one. It doesn't have to be flashy. You can go the fiberglass route like others have. I built mine out of plywood, hinges, a magnet latch, foam for the arm rest and heavy vinyl.

your welcome, i love my consol it is cheap dont get me wrong, but its prefect and i always have enough cup holders

i saw the exact same console at walmart the other day and i was about to buy but i wasnt sure.. Did it fit without a problem or did you have to mod it or cut something to make it fight.? Does it wabble or move or stuff.??

i cut the section off between the seats... very easy to do carefully. tucked the remaining fabric under the seat frame and you cant tell its been cut. i put seat covers on it anyway, just because they looked nicer. then i made a jig template of the floor using cardboard and cut some wood and made a center console. covered it in carpet, put a temp gauge in it, made a lid and put some padding in it and covered that in carpet as well (auto carpet from walmart) its like the stuff you would cover a sub enclosure with. i dont have any pics right now, but i will take some.
