need help asap!

i forced it. i had to get under the truck. roll the tranny on top of myself and had to essentially spend two hours dry humping it til i could get a bolt started... LOL that sounds worse than it is

no battery in it yet. i cant even afford to fix the brakes on the monte.

I know exactly what your talking about I have done more than a couple in the dirt with a 2X4 and a brick.

yep. ill never do that alone again. everything was such a tight fit its ridiculous.

I still laugh when I think about the time my brother was cussing at a bolt and the tranny landed on his chest. The pain in his eyes

that happend to me a few times that day. that aod started getting heavy after about the first half hour

Make sure you don't break the bolt off the crank. It would take a lot of force but it could happen.

When you put the tranny in, you did get the torque converter studs lined up with the flexplate right? The guy I have working for me forgot that the torque convert on a Ford has studs. He had just put in a couple of GM trannys which use bolts though the flexplate. After realizing what he had done, he took the bellhousing bolts back out and slid the tranny back. I turned the crank by the dampener bolt while he held the converter still. Then the studs lined up and the motor turned freeley when the tranny was bolted back up.

Hope this helps,

Pete
