B&M Sport Shifter. I have a ratcheting B&M in my Stang and absolutely love it, it's worth the extra money. But the Sport Shifter is not bad either, I can still do the 2nd gear lock no problem (start in first, shift to D, then immediately put it back in first to lock it in second, or else it will go right to 3rd). IIRC, there was an additional kit you needed for the B&M which involves swapping out the shift lever. I have swapped them 3 times on different AODs, and I hated it each time. Just a stubborn nut that's always a PITA to get out.

I still have the OEM floor shifter w/ linkages, but no bottom plate, and not too sure if you could rig it too work.

My old Grand Prix had a "home made" shifter out of a bent piece of aluminum, and the part you grabbed was a plastic pistol handle. The PO made this LOL but it was a solid piece of steel that connected the shifter right to the shift lever on the trans. Scary that it had no reverse lock out or anything, but I never got too crazy with it. More than 1 way to skin a cat I suppose..

does you tranny have the electric OD lockout if so put a switch on the dash and switch it manually from the ignition key on or in the tech library it explains how to use a pressure switch for the lockout

The non electronic (I believe what he is using) AOD only requires the kick down. Only elect is NSS circuit and reverse light switch.

Yea he has got to be going nuts wanting to fire that mother up

you have no idea. still though, nothing yet. cant get it to turn over by hand. went to set the timing at tdc and no movement. thinking the engine seized while i had it apart in the barn or possibly it bound up when i put the tranny in. im hoping for the later. the engine ran great before i pulled it out of the donor. this is really starting to suck. unless i can find an old 302 someones got sitting around on the mega cheap side, its looking like im going to have to wait until next year to see it finshed. front brakes started dragging on the monte carlo today too and my gf ran out my last 20 bucks in gas.... what a day....

if only i could start shitting out hundred dollar bills somehow....

squirt some WD-40 or PB blaster in the cylinders and take a breaker with a socket and pop it loose with the damper bolt let it soak for a bit if you have to then leave the plugs out and crank it for a bit to get the oil up in all the journals before you fire it off.

ill have to do that. my dad said use some lucas too. they use that at his shop quite a bit for stuck small engines. he said it sounds more like something bound up when i put the tranny in.

There is not alot else you can do but break it loose and run it till it pukes as long as it didnt sit with water in the cylinders for some time. That is a common problem with bone yard engines get it running then do a compression check and A vacuum guage will tell the condition of the engine.

I was thinking of that too did it snap together or did you force it with the bolts.

Does your battery have a full charge maybe jumping it will give it the jolt it needs
