Mystery vacuum hose ID please

Ok, dummest problem ever. I changed the spark plugs on my 2002 Ranger. It's a 4.0 liter, auto, 4x4. When I was done I found the vacuum line shown below hanging loose on the passenger side. It looks like it comes from the cab thru the fender wall under the A/C evaporator. I can NOT find what it needs to be connected to under the hood. Everything seems to work, AC/heater controls, 4X4 shifting, etc. It does have a rough idle now and my gas milage has dropped off some. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check the throttle body under the piece of plastic. Looks like a possible area that it could be from.

it looks like it would go to your vaccuum reserve canister (plastic ball thing, under the air intake) that controls your blower vent positions. you said your heat and a/c work, but do all the vent positions work?

+1 Looks like it prolly goes to the vacuum ball down on the rt. inner fender liner, below the air cleaner. The gray line in your hand goes to the heater controls.
