Long story short, my truck got broken into on Christmas morning at about 12:30am.

It was right after the 11:00 candle light service was over at Wesley Memorial UMC in High Point. My dad is one of the associate ministers there, and I left my truck in the parking lot for my dad to use that night since the seats were down in the back of my Bronco, and went home with my mom and sister in my moms new heep grand cherokee. My dad had a few things to attend too after the service, came out about 15 minutes later, and saw "me" messing around in my car. He thought I had just stayed behind and waited for him, and got halfway across the parking lot before he realized something was fishy. The guy was wearing a toboggan and moving all about my car. His car was parked directly behind it, still running.

The second my dad realized what was going on, he yelled "HEY! HEY YOU! What the HELL do you think you're doing!!??" The guy immediately jumped from my car into his, but he had to drive past my dad to get out of the parking lot. Dad got his license #. I believe he said it was a grey 91 Toyota Corolla. Cops showed up and took down the info, then went and staked the guys house out. Car was actually registered to a woman, but the car has still yet to be reported as stolen, so hopefully they'll find it and can tie it back to the thief. She'll have a hard time claiming she doesn't know who was in it, or that it was stolen that night since it hasn't been reported stolen yet. I'm sure they'll find the car, but i doubt they'll ever get my stuff.

Thief smashed my drivers side window, ripped my dash apart (destroyed my 4x4 switch for turning on and off 4x4) stole my headunit that I got for my 19th birthday 2 weeks ago, as well as the remote that goes with it, the aux cable, and the other plugs that go with it. Even worse though, is I had a grey Craftsman toolbox in the back (always be prepared remember!) with loads of different tools that I put together in case of an emergency, and to help people on the side of the road. I always stop and try to help people change tires, etc etc if I'm not in a hurry. That alone was worth at least $300, and there were a few tools in there that I inherited from my grandpa when he died last January that had a bit of sentimental value. Thats mainly what pissed me off cuz that stuff can't be replaced.

Anyway, I think my insurance will cover it. I'm gonna use the money from that to buy junkyard glass and parts, then just do all the work myself, and use any left over money towards an alarm system. That was seriously the most low of low times/places/peoples cars to break into. Breaking into and stealing stuff from the preachers car, in the church parking lot, on Christmas morning! What an a$$hole!!! I hope at the very least he used my stuff to buy something for his kid or something. More than likely it was for drug money or something though.

Anyway. Here's a quick pic of the damage:

That said, I didn't let it ruin my Christmas. I still had a good day, although I didn't sleep much that night!
I did get these Christmas morn, which significantly brightened my day! (pun intended :D):

In case you can't quite see, thats an HID bulb and ballast down below. 55w 5000k HID Hellas FTW!!! These are gonna be BRIGHT!!!!

So before I go back to college in January, I've gotta get all this done:
Replace glass
Rewire a new Headunit
Fix my dash
Rewire doors
Install an alarm
Build either a roof rack or bumper (I've wanted to do one or the other for a while anyway.)
Install my new Hellas!!

And I'd like to get my CB installed if I can find a nice antenna! lol

Looks like I've got my work cut out for me!! lol

That sucks, sorry to hear about that. Hope all your things get recovered and the guy gets caught. I had someone steal my wallet last week, but thankfully someone found it and mailed back most of the contents.

Yea, it sucks but really its just stuff, It can be replaced and repaired for the most part. I hate that some of those tools were taken though.

Glad you got your wallet back! There are certainly good people out there, but sometimes you get to thinkin' that the bad out number the good! lol

I'm still hoping they'll at least catch the guy. I'm getting a better headunit than I had anyway, so thats not that big of a deal. Insurance will pay for the glass, so I can have the car back on the road in about a day. What I really want back are those tools. I think maybe he's more likely to hold onto them, so if they catch him I MIGHT just get em back! I'm pretty sure he used them to steal my radio. Not positive, but a good chance thats what happened. There's enough tools in there to do some crazy car theft and car jacking lol!

Like your BII by the way!

i hate hearing about this. i really wish i could give my fellow RBV owners help when crap like this happens

install one of those flame thrower alarm systems they had out a few years ago lol :icon_welder: :icon_thumby:

Whats that? :icon_bounceblue:

That really sucks man, That has to be one of the lowest things you could possibly do at the lowest possible time...

On a lighter side note those lights ROCK! And you dad should get some hidden pistols like in Hot Fuzz. :icon_thumby:

Man, that sucks.

I kinda wish somebody WOULD steal my radio. The CD player is broken, but I don't use it enough to make it worth spending the money for a new head right now.

I thought I had a few hundred dollars worth of tools stolen right out of my box while it was at home for a week between school and work a few years ago.

Here i'd put them in my hand box to keep at school, shoved them in a corner of the garage, forgot about them. But that sucks about your grandpa's s stuff.

That sux and I feel your pain. I had a vehicle broken into on xmas eve about 4 years ago and they took my cd player, all my cd's, and my two subs and amp- and the subs and amp where my xmas gift that i had recieved 3-4 days prior to xmas. That person will get whats comming to them eventually.

Well we know how's going to hell, now don't we...

Actually... I don't know WHO it is, but I know somebody sure is! :P :D lol

Thanks man, its awful for sure, I mean I never figured anybody would even bother looking in my 19 year old Bronco, let alone bothering to break in. I appreciate the thought though, I know if I was closer there'd probably be a lot of you out helping me piece this thing back together! That makes you all an awesome bunch in my book, so thanks!!

Haha YES! Lol my dad was thinking along a similar line of thought. Yano, something like 40,000 volts pulsing through the door handle as he tries to get in it! :D

Whats that? :icon_bounceblue:

Thanks man, it was loww for sure! Somebodies gettin coal for Christmas!! :D And yes, the lights are awesome!! :D I outfitted one of them with HID bulb & ballast, and took it outside for a play Christmas night. The difference between it and the 55w Halogen is UNREAL!! Halogen looked bright until I broke out the HID kit. Then the halogen was almost depressing! And that was just ONE of them, I'll have four of those suckers on my roof!! Its gonna be brightttttt!

And dad and I were laughing. I could see him coming out of the church, catching the thief, and then whipping out a glock and lighting his ass up!! Then I can see the headlines the next morning: "Minister catches thief on Christmas morning, shoots him at church." Yeaaa, that would go over well!! :L hahaha!

Man, that sucks.

Haha yea I actually thought my iPod touch was stolen with it too. Then I heard it go "dinggg" in the corner of my room from getting an email and I was like... "Was that my ipod?" Haha. Then I found it and was like YESSSSS!!!! Then I wasn't that bummed about it cuz I figured I'd just have to replace some glass. Then about 12 hours later I realized my tools were gone and THATS when I got pissed about it...

Thanks!
OT: What kind of housing are you using for those HIDs?

Haha ahh thats not off topic :P I've got four Hella 700ff's. They have the free form reflectors, which do a real good job of projecting that light out there. The HID bulbs make them UNREAL! 55w HID bulbs are roughly 5x brighter than 55w Halogen bulbs, and they draw the same wattage which is awesome! They also put down a much whiter, more useable light! They have a serious amount of throw with the HID kit installed, its just unreal! And I've only tested one of them alone, I can't wait to get all 4 installed!!!! :icon_bounceblue:

Overkill is my last name. :D

Ahh man that sucks! Same deal as I'm in basically then. I got this stuff 2 weeks ago (December 10) for my 19th Birthday, and it was about a week before I got it all installed. Did you have any sort of lead on them like a license number or what? Did they ever catch the fools who did it? And yea, I certainly hope my man gets caught!

Thanks for the support guys, ya'll are really great! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!

Yea, I've been checking Craigslist and eBay a couple times a day since then, nothings appeared yet, but I certainly will report it if anything resembling my stuff appears!

Thanks, those are actually the comfiest seats EVER! I love them! :D
And yea, I wish I'd been packing a piece, would have been rather satisfying to take a couple shots at the back of his car as he drove off! :P Then you'd know he'd be within about 5 miles of there, stuck cuz you drained the fuel out of his tank! :thefinger:

Stole a car and stole a bunch of parts out of your rig!? Man, what a clept-a-holic!!!!

I hope they track him down and return what isn't rightfully his!
