My truck got broken into on Christmas morning... :(

Yea, I've been checking Craigslist and eBay a couple times a day since then, nothings appeared yet, but I certainly will report it if anything resembling my stuff appears!

Thanks, those are actually the comfiest seats EVER! I love them! :D
And yea, I wish I'd been packing a piece, would have been rather satisfying to take a couple shots at the back of his car as he drove off! :P Then you'd know he'd be within about 5 miles of there, stuck cuz you drained the fuel out of his tank! :thefinger:

he was driving a corolla.... 2 shots and the bullets would trespass the whole car:icon_rofl:
get an alarm system for next time, and try to tint your windows:icon_thumby:
that way is a bit harder to see your radio and stuff

Stole a car and stole a bunch of parts out of your rig!? Man, what a clept-a-holic!!!!

I hope they track him down and return what isn't rightfully his!

Car hasn't been reported stolen. Looks like it was borrowed, with permission.

The car was never reported stolen, it sounds like it was a Girlfriends car or something. It was registered to a woman, but it was definitly a man in the car, and if it hasn't been reported stolen yet, its gonna be hard for the woman owner to claim she didn't know who had it.

I'm going to look at alarms this week, tinting the windows is also a good thought, might look into that as well. With the amount of tools, lights, audio, and other things (ipod, phone, GPS) I normally have in my car, I think this would definitely be a wise investment. Think I'm gonna start a new thread in a different section about the best alarm system to get for the $$.

Thats correct! I'm almost certain that since my dad got the license number, they'll eventually find the car. The registered address was in High Point, the officer told my dad that much. They went and staked the house out that night to try and catch him when he came home. Whether or not they'll get my stuff back though, remains to be seen.

Ahaha, thanks for the laugh, I'd seen all those before but completely forgotten about them! Ahh I would have loved to have had a trunk monkey for sure! :P loll!

weve all been where you are and it sucks i had one of my fords broken into at a very comman walking spots and if i had left my 90 pound pit in the truck well we all know what would happen to that poor fool he wouldnt have made it to far but he was with me and gf at the time who is now my fiance now and all he took was her purse i had 180dollar strobes and costa del mar sunglasses in the seat and a new headunit and he left all of it we were only about half a mile from my truck and never heard him break my passenger window and the kicker is it started to rain when we turned around to go back to the truck so we were out in the rain for about 40mins with my pit i was the one who found my passenger window broken out and i was pissed beyond belief. anyway my point is to get a pitbull and keep him in your truck whenever possible thats what i do now and for the most part from what i have seen NO ONE will walk near my truck i can i can handle cleaning up drool off my doors and windows other than glass.

Thanks man, ya'll are a great group of folks, its nice to hear people wantin to help out! So I appreciate it! :)

See if you can find the address yourself and do your own stakeout. Drive by here and there and see if the car is there. I bought my Alpine top of the line alarm new in 1998 with the pager system and with 6 sirens scattered around my truck even inside the cab and tinted windows it has helped my truck alot over the years. Even though I don't have much in there. I want protection on my Ranger. My 130lb Rottie is always with me in my truck. When I go into places for a short time my windows are left down and people are sneaking around and they see this BIG GERMAN ROTT waiting for you to try anything. Let me just say this you will not be leaving well maybe a bloody stump.

A word of advice always keep your things out of sight and remove your faceplate so they don't see what kind of headunit you have. Viper has a good alarm that has a pager built into the remote. Put more then one siren on there put some inside your B2.

My dad was sitting in the cop car when he looked the plate up, he saw the address, but I don't think he was really sposed too, and he couldn't remember what the address was now. Normally I have one of those pull out shields in the back of my truck, that covers up my tools and stuff. I pulled it out on tuesday so I could go dirtbike riding with a friend (the back was full of stuff so I had to take it out) Didn't get it put back in and 2 days later there was the break in. Headunits just didn't seem all that popular to steal anymore, I mean that guy will be lucky to get 50 bucks for my headunit, so I just never bothered to take the faceplate off. But yea, now I'll be taking lots of precautions to prevent this in the future. I hear Viper makes a good alarm, but I started another thread asking about alarms, and whats a good one for the money.

you should be able to get the address (freedom of information act) like said just drive by the house every now and then and wait to see him and like said he will crap his pants

I hope they track him down and return what isn't rightfully his!

I hope they track him down and clock him one right in the jaw!

Any news?

Nope, no news unfortunately. At least, the cop hasn't ever called my dad on his cell. Dads been dealing with the cop, since he was the one driving the car at the time, and the cop responded to his call... I'm at the lake right now, but once I get back home again (tomorrow) I'm gonna call the officer in charge of my case and ask if they ever found the car. I'm surprised they haven't found it yet to be honest, I mean they had an address, and the local police will obviously be on the lookout for that license number...

Truthfully, I hope the guy steals some more stuff. Makes him more likely to get caught, and a lot higher up on the polices priority list if people keep reporting this guy. Not wishing theft on anybody, but you know what I mean!

I still think he's probably kept my tools. Its not a "set" of tools per-se, more like a toolbox that I hand picked a bunch of tools and put together a "roadside emergency kit" with. So I suspect it would be hard to get much money for them. He's probably using them to break into other peoples cars.

ya know its kinda late now but if your windows are tinted ppl are less likley to peek inside...but the best part about tint is if someone does break the window you dont get glass up your ass for months. the tint holds all pieces of glass together..well...most of it.
