My little Iron Ranger {Part 2}

Cool, now go buy some trailer fenders and weld em in! Lol. Lets see some pics of this thing.....

:icon_rofl::icon_rofl: Sorry bud. I like it when others do it right(like yourself), but I would never do it to mine. I like the au natural style of it.

But pics? You got it!

With the body dropped, we hit a few snags. One was the upper coolant line was higher than my waterneck, good chance for some trapped air. So, I took the radiator to work, chopped off the top section containing the waterneck, raised it 1 3/4" and out 1" and I think this is the best thing yet!

The extra o2 sensor for something...........

Wiring harness going from that o2 sensor through my custom aluminum block plate (the 2 smaller ones are my dumps :D).

And it will plug into this:

My brother installed the battery box, ran the leads, soldered the 2ga wires to the connectors (that was interesting :annoyed:), and buttoned up any loose ends.

It's almost ready for fire-up. Just gotta add the fluids, check for leaks, and re-time it! Maybe even tomorrow!! :icon_bounceblue::yahoo:

But it wasn't without setbacks.

First we missed a small part of sealant on the waterpump housing, so a good leak was starting on the first half gallon of coolant. Ripped it out, resealed it carefully, and reinstalled it.

Then when my brother was priming the oil, the oil filter seal opened up and spewed oil all over the place. Couldn't figure out why until he realized the old filter's seal was still in the oil mount. Oops!!

But a little adjustment in timing, a home for the AFR gauge, and we should be set!

I would pull the spout, set the base timing at about 12* and run it, if it doesn't spark knock, add an other degree. I run my mustang at 14* base.

SWEET job so far!!

Thanks!

Right now she's set at 16* timing, I believe.

:D :D Patience, brother, patience.

Lemme take it on her maden 60 mile voyage first, then I'll have to find a suitable camera...

say there a way you could get a pic of split rock in the background with ur truck that would be cool.

This truck scares the crap out of me. The sound is intense, the power is really intense, and starting off from a dead stop is much tougher than before, due to a very, very touchy throttle.

Anyone know of any ways to help tone it down?.

set the timing at 10*..........or........remove 3 sparkplug wires(LOL)
