My little Iron Ranger {Part 2}

Truck looks great man. Those driving lights are a nice tight fit and do look factory. (to the uneducated ranger public) lol

Thanks! I lucked out on them. I looked for a looooooooooooong time on the net to find a pair that would fit properly, but not be some "cheapies". KC had a set that fits snug top and bottom, and maybe 1/8" gap side to side. About as perfect as it's gonna get!

As a side note, here's me and my dad while we were lowing the box body lifts.

He told me something once. He said "I've forgotten more than you've ever learned, son!"

That's my dad!:icon_thumby:

If you lived closer, I would get those 2.** something rear end gears off you.

but that is one sharp setup and sharp truck.

You two will have much to discuss and an eternity to do it joyfully! :icon_thumby:

My dad used to race a 1929 Ford Roadster back in the 70's. I mean, it was the serious races with $$$ on the line. He named it "BONZAI". :icon_twisted:

After he crashed it and ended up in a coma for 3 weeks, he decided it was time to hang up the racing jacket.

When it comes to old school carb injected, manual transmission stuff, he can tell you everything about it down to the last fastener.

As far as with my Ranger EFI, he had a lot more questions than answers. He just liked to stop by and watch his 2 sons do the impossible.

It also means a lot because the ranger used to belong to his dad(my grandpa), Korean war vet Milton Thompson. Passed away in 2006. I miss him dearly....................

Oh yeah, almost forgot.

I officially did my first burnout! :D:3gears:

Lets just say, traction was nowhere in site until I hit 3rd gear................

Congratulations!! It's about time you figure out how to do that:icon_thumby: :icon_rofl:

Yup! Press the gas pedal down far enough and everything else falls in line..............

Now I gotta make a "hide box" for my exhaust dumps, since they aren't legal in MN. Use some sheet metal for the final fitment and cardboard to get the shape I want.

If only it would stop raining for ONE day............

congrats on the family history & the burnout!!!!

My brother managed to splice in the reverse light pigtails into the ranger's wiring harness. Now I have reverse lights!! :yahoo::yahoo:

Gonna also polish up the CAI since we now know how to use the electric table buffing wheel:icon_twisted:. So far, it's looking pretty shiny...........

Also gotta do some more exhaust work. My driver's side exhaust is very, very close to the crossmember.

I'll post pics as soon as I get these things done!

You've come a long ways...and it keeps lookin better and better...I guess one of these days I need to start my build thread...
