My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

Geez and I'm both of those things:D

If only you were closer multi, the old thrones in Jammer are more than a little tired:sad:

:thefinger: :D

I know.. Man it sucks meeting such great Ranger peeps only to never get to meet up. I'd do some tradin with ya if we were closer..

I thought they were the same. The carpet says it will work for 84 to 92... I know you have to dril new holes going from a bench to buckets but I'll take your word for it though....

EDIT: After doing some google searching I found the tracks brand new.. Here is the fitment they give. 1983-1985 can interchange and 1986-1993 are interchangable... The seats I am getting were in a 1986 Ranger so we will see when I attempt to bolt them up in my 90.....

That's interesting that the change was mid-model. 86 is an odd year to change. I just assumed the change would have happened in 89 when everything else changed.

It's not hard to make simple adapters though. It was about 2hr from "Oh no, wtf!" to having it bolted in.

I think someone else may have said it already but with sawzall and welder there isn't anything that can't be done!!! :icon_welder:

i believe i said that...

I am going to sell the CF seats for 100.00 if you want them... They are leather and full power... I love the CF seats but with they don't sit well for me after about 100 miles I start getting antsy it them... If I was young and skinnier I think they would be great.
That'd be great, if I knew I'd fit right with them. I kept the bench all the way back, don't want to loose much space that way.Besides I don't have a way to get them right now if I wanted to. I haven't got the older 84/86 running (or even close to it) and the 99 is currently parked awaiting head gasket. All I got right now is a KIA Forte Koup and a Motorcycle, not enough room on either to fit those seats.

After doing some google searching I found the tracks brand new..
Mind if I ask where?

Probably while reading one of Gwaii's threads.

I'll be heading down to the Macon area here soon... If you want them I'll deliver....

I was thinking Gwaii too....

I'm really worried about the fit. To be more precise, the leg and head room. I've only driven a first gen (or standard cab) Ranger with a bench and I kept that bench slid all the way back for comfort. How much space will I loose with these seats. I'm not worried about bolting them in after what you said about the seat tracks, what I'm building is an 86 so they should bolt right in. I would have to make the holes for the inner mount points anyway.

Honestly I don't know how much room is lost... I'd say it will depend on how tall you are.. I am around 5'7 leg room is pretty good.. I can't really describe the fit very well. For me it is my back that can't take it.. You would have to drill all four holes the seat is wider than a stock bucket and it bolts to the inside factory holes which a bench cab doesn't have...

Updated "Shelby" cluster..

Just got home with the new bucket seats.. They came out of an extended cab so now I have to get new seat tracks... Too bad I am changing the color of them as they look almost brand new... Really too bad they are red.. yuck!

5'11" - 6' depending on who is doing the measuring.

Wish I had the truck done so I could just drive it up and find out how they fit for me the right way.

If you head down this way and still have the crossfire seats installed PM me and I'll make sure I meet up with you to see them.

Do you have decent selection of older Rangers in the yards up there? I need a bolt & hardware for the small end of an I-beam. One of mine was damaged when I got the truck, and the local u-pull-it has crushed everything older than 95 and currently has no Rangers. If any chance you could find one up there? If so I could drive up as soon as school is over in a couple weeks and get it, or meet you when you came down this way.

There is a ton of Rangers up this way... I may even have what you need... It will be a while before I put the new seats in so you may have time to check them out... are you talknig the end of the beam that bolts it to the crossmember? I know 89-up Ranger beams are different from 89- down... We can try to meet up in April sometime if you want... If you want come up here and we will hit up the u pull its up here... We have three to choose from

That's exactly the bolt I'm talking about. The beams are different but they are interchangeable so long as you swap out the spindles as well. That tells me that everything at that cross member mounting location should be the same.

Sounds like a plan to me. I know I will have the last weekend of march, and the first weekend of April free. I may be able to handle other weekends as well after than, but won't know until after school starts back up. I am only taking one class next quarter so I should have a lot more free time.

So you just need the bolt?

I may have to go to Dallas Tx the last weekend in March or the first weekend in April not sure yet which or if I am even going. If not then either weekend would be awesome...

Oh yeah if you are 5'11 to 6' I doubt those seats would be all that great for you... They would be awesome in a Ext cab though
