My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

Looking for that bolt, the washer and the nut. When I pulled the front suspension out the bolt was worn bad (don't know why), and the nut and washer were missing (probably why). I can't seem to find a replacement for the bolt around here, seems my best option is pull one from a JY.

That's cool, if the opportunity presents itself before they get removed, I'd like to sit in your truck to find out. They really do look good and with a slight color change (red for blue) they would look good in my truck when I finish it. If they don't work for me that's fine, because I was really leaning toward low back bucket anyway. I'd still like to find a set of first gen bucket seat tracks though.

I don't remember what the bolts look like on my truck.. You will have to come up soon and we will hit the yards... I gotta get seat tracks too...

JoshT couldn't you just take the bolt to the local hardware store and get a grade 8 bolt the same size and use it ????

Multi, can you take a good picture of the seats, My Ranger is a super cab, and I'm either going to get the seats that I have (leather from a 91 Explorer) recovered, or find me another set of leather seats, just depends on whats cheaper.

Believe it or not, no. First off it's a metric bolt. Second I've hit everyplace in the area that sells fasteners no body has anything that size.

There is plenty of Rangers up here.. Soon as we can hook up we'll hit them up.

Looking at that pic I think I might fit. It doesn't look that much worse than the bench seat. Those seats look really comfortable as well. Hell I drive a KIA Forte Koup every day, those seats in that cab still look roomier than the cabin of that car.

I'll be done with this school quarter next Wednesday. I know I will have the following two weekends free, so if one of those works for you to hit the yards, let me know. If not let me know the next one that does, and if I'm not swamped with physics homework I'll head up that way. Only problem I'll have is no tools for at least another month. Dad's doing the head gasket on my 99 for me, he's retired and needed a project. Along with the truck I dropped off all my tools since he doesn't have a good set of metrics, or the specialty tools needed for the job (head bolts). Only thing I kept here is mostly quarter inch drive, not good for removing large stubborn bolts. I can probably get a few back as long as I know what I'll need for the parts I'm after.

The seats aren't too bad they just don't work for me that well... Those weekends Sounds good I'll let you know as soon as I hear about the Dallas trip.. I have tools so we are good there... Just make up a list of what you want or need and I'll make sure I have the tools to remove the parts Let's look at April 2nd if that works for you,, That's pay weekend for me!!!

Just found out Dallas is a no go so I am ready when you are...

Spent the morning at Pull A part. Scored the mini spare tire from a Town Car that has never been used, new seat tracks for the new buckets, a new harness fir the ALT, some brake parts for the new 8.8 with 10". also stopped by the local parts store and picked up new drums, Shoes, Spring kit, and new adjuster kits. Axle seals. Spent some of the day painting the rear axle and drums.. Had to take seals back cause they were wrongand as usual cost some time... Got a few pictures I'll post up tomorrow.... Josh if you read this we have a ton of Rangers to pick parts from... Hope to see you the first weekend of April!!

Message Received! I'm planning for that right now. Everything will depend on work, they just started back drafting for weekend overtime work. I'm due to be drafted, and they can get you for two in a row. Figures they picked between my school quarters to start back up. Hoping that I'll get lucky and dodge the draft, but they don't give notice until noon on Thursday before the weekend.

I'll be making a list of parts I'd like to get that'll fit in the car. Only two things I can think of right now (aside from that bolt mentioned previously) are a brushed aluminum look instrument bezel, and a spare instrument cluster if any good ones are available. I'd really like to find the bezel from an 85 with the 4 indicator lights, and din style radio opening. I'll look over the truck and see what else I can come up with. Got a few other things I'd like to find but those will have to wait until I have a truck to move them.

Pics from this weekend

7.5 is out. The right brakes had parts fall out when I pulled the drum. The left side had fluid all in it from leaking wheel cylinder.. It was time for complete new brakes so Swapping the 8.8 is perfect time for the 10" brake upgrade since it needed brakes anyway!!

Painted the new wheel cylinders with caliper paint not thinking they don't show...

Put the 2 degree wedges in between the spring and axles to fix the pinion angle offset.
She still feels pretty strong with the 3.08 under it.. The new brakes are stopping her on a dime... It's running 1800 RPM @ 55 MPH. Looking forward to getting it up to 70+... All in all this weekend was a great weekend... Girlfriend and I found everything we were looking for at the salvage yard and were able to get all the parts to get the axle installed.
It took me and her about 2 hours to get it setup!!

Here is a quick write up for all the dash and such lights.. Instead of pulling the whole cluster out just pull the guages.. start with the tach then the guage left of the spedo then the one left of it and then the speedo...

For the bulbs you can't reach in to pull out use a hook style pick to get the bulb out:

To put the bulb in use a 3\8 socket and extention

Reverse the proceedure to install.. It's that simple!!!!

Keep me posted bud! I'll PM my number as it gets closer to the weekend we are looking at if we are still on.. We really have a lot of Ranger and Explorer options.. We have 3 yards we can hit up if need be!!

Good stuff multi, I really like the Cobra on the diff cover!
