My Bronco 2

oh document everything you do, it's easy for you to look back and see what you have done-- and it helps others out...

anyways, this is what i've come up with (info wise):

long arms and brackets- either make them or get rusty's high clearance, brackets are $21 each from ballistic fab (or make these also)

track bar and bracket- idk yet, James duff has a prototype I might try to get one for the bracket. on the bar is make it or buy an adj EB bar (others have said it works)

steering/brakes
WJ knuckles(for crossover steering)
WJ calipers and pads
Explorer sport trac rotors (for 5x4.5)
custom arms and TRE's
w/ the stock b2 arm

Coils
looking for something about 280 ppi XJ lift coils (don't know on lenght yet)

Shocks
bilstein or some GOOD ones.. no really stiff shocks on this one!
need to know lengths before i can order these

Driveshaft
don't know yet...

Trans Crossmember
gonna make a high clearance one
should i make the long arms mount to the crossmember or no?

Gears
4.56's or 4.88's on the d30 (regear the 8.8 once i can afford tires--till then i won't have 4x4)
master install kit to make sure all the d30 is good

diff cover of some sort and lube locker (love these things)

and i'm not doing a d30 locker at the time of the swap-- wheel without one and see what happens...

Can anyone add info to this???

for the driveshaft i found that a xj front is damn near pressfit inside my factory front (your's might be different) . so i just hammered it in to the length I wanted lap welded and did some plug weld's as well i ended up with 14" of overlap a lap weld, and 8 plug weld's I dont think it's gonna come apart. as for the crossmember i really need to snap a pic of mine, i mounted my new one to the side's of my bracket's and there are two more frame mount's about 6'' back from the bracket's i have a cross bar across between the link bracket's and one that goes under the lowest part of the t-case. and welded support's between the two. she look's alot better now and definately hold's up alot better.

Hey I'm wondering how that bumper mounts to the frame. Could I get some pictures of the mounts if you don't mind?

I'll get some pics tomorrow. It's just a flat piece that bolts straight to the side of the frame. There are already holes in the side of the frame. It's done with three 1/2 inch bolts on each side.

simple flat mounts bolted to the frame on the side.. first pic is driver side. the flat bar is welded to the inside supports of the bumper. i'll try to get an inner pic of the bumper. but the mount is butted against the clevis mount that comes thru the bumper. so everything is basically directly to the frame. understand? lol i'm not sure that made sense at all...

guys if anyone has sas stuff for a b2, let me know.
i'm looking at needing arms, arm brackets, trac bar, trac bar bracket, brake stuff, steering stuff for the d30 and so on..

Don't know how far away you are but there is a Pull A Part in memphis!!!! Their stuffs cheap and it's the bomb for JYs. Gravel, everything up on homemade stands so you can get under it. Research what you can use off something else, then go raping!! You can even use a sawzall!!! No torches, jacks or car batteries. Check them on the web, you can check inventory before you go! And Prices! :icon_thumby:
Also try TN Off Road forum on the web. Registration is free. I found my 37 IROKs there for $450, a DANA44 E Locker buried in a Dodge axle for $300 and RangerSVT & mine donor vehicle for my 5.8L, ZF & 1356M! A lot of stuff on there from MS & AL so shouldn't be too far away! Yeah it says TN Off Road but there's stuff from TN, KY, MS, AL, GA, & I think I even seen something from AR!!!! :icon_thumby: :headbang:

a gasket for a diff cover. reusable and seals better and cleaner than RTV silicone.
they are like $20 but its easy to take the diff cover off (to add locker or regear). no cleaning up silicone.

If you're going to wheel that joker, drill, tap and install a drain plug in the diff cover! AC's got em and it makes after trail maintenance a breeze! I crawl under there, pull plug, drain, refill, move to the the next one. Only have to crawl out for filling engine oil.

my 8.8 has a recessed drain plug.
i have the ruffstuff rear cover. and that thing is freaking heavy!
w/ recessed drain and bolts! its worth the money.

on the d30 i'm thinking about doing a Spyder Offroad one (a local shop here makes em)
i cant find a pic of it.. but yeah, its got a drain on it.

SOLID diff covers. Nodular iron & like $70!!

i bought my ruff stuff one used... well NIB but from a guy that sold his jeep and 8.8 but didn't give the diff cover with it.
