Remove the bolts and take it off haha. I'm sure there's enough clearance between the guard and the cover for it to clear the ring gear.

No doubt it will be a pain to fish it out, but there should be enough clearance to do so. Hopefully i dont eat these words but I doubt I will ever be opening that cover to replace broken parts, mainly just need to crack it open to drain it.

How do you plan to reseal it if you can only crack it anyways

there is about 1.5-2" between the cover and that tube. that is plenty of room to clean/reapply rightstuff.

Right stuff is where its at. I had to replace my rear axle seals next weekend. Took all the bolts out and couldn't get the cover off. It fits a bit high on the top, enough I can hit on it with a block of wood and a hammer. I was beating on it with a 5lb sledge and it was splintering the 2x4 I was using. If finally broke free.

Its expensive but its the only sealant I'll ever use.

started working on a skid plate today, still alot more too do

Plate it, drill holes, clearance way for front d-shaft, front and rear lips, t-case mount.

this is just the basic skin of it really:

Didnt want to waste my solid wire and gas beings this is going to be alot of welding, so I put some flux in there. Any of the welds that will be visible, which should only be 2, I will mig.

I'll start the updates today by showing this...

bottles, victor head and regulators and 20ft hose, bottles are full too.

Paid - $200

Now for the updates, almost finished the skid.

First, before anyone asks why I didnt just use 1/4" to start with. I bought a sheet of 1/8" to build the bed, and I had nothing else for it, and enough to double plate building a skid. Saved me over $200.

been awhile since I updated. Just got back in town. My wife and I went to Ft. Hood to go visit our friends.

here are some pics of the finished skid plate and t-case mount, Minus more paint. I was able to test it out a little bit friday night and the t-case mount worked wonderfully. Skid ended up being just a tad too low, but oh well.

i think your dd needs a 4 inch lift and 33's, and to get rid of those stupid bling rims but anyways the skidplate looks good, the dd is nice looking, i just dont like those rims
