My 91 Ranger the stRanger

Is the bend in the arms needed for tire clearance or would the arms have been fine if they were straight?

Yeah 750.00 aint cheap! lol
I have 17x8 wheels with 4.5 bs and a 12.50 tire. I have the steering stopped right before the tie rod hits the diff cover, and with the duff arms and my wheels I have just a hair of clearance on the aft shock.

I would say yes, the bend is required for best turning radius and clearance. Ask josh4061 about that too because he built custom arms with the bend. The duff arms also have I think 4 degrees of caster which is nice. I have the stock c cap bushings and the pinion lines up real nice.

sorry to chime in so late.
Who did you order your doubler kit through, and how much did it cost???? thanks

BTW sick truck dude

DD machine off of pirate. It was $500 plus a donor case. I got his number and called and he answered right away and I had the kit in 4 days. Other people have more trouble getting a hold of him. A quick search on pirate will get you his number, or it might be in my thread somewhere, not sure.

Do you think it was worth it?
I am gana do a doubler, but i feel like i would be saving myself a lot of money making my own brackets. I can build everything but the sector shaft.
I guess what i am saying is, how much time did it save you????
thanks

The machining quality is top notch. It saved me a ton of time, easily. But I also don't have a ton of machining tools. I just have some basic tools and fab skills. The sector shaft can be bought alone, but for just a little more you get the whole kit. If you do any hardcore offloading, you need a doubler. I have to say double low is really badass. But I you just put around in the woods and hit a few mud holes, it's not necessary. I would buy the kit any day before making my own.

Don't forget you also need driveshafts, crossmembers, and move the fuel tank or go with a smaller one

Awesome, that is what i needed to know!!
thanks
I just made an account on pirate 4x4 and sent the guy a message. Hope he gets back soon.
You wouldn't happen to still have his number would you?

Last I knew he only sold full kits, and would only sell the individual shafts to someone who had broken one from his kit.

I bought just the shaft for half the price of the kit.

Best way to get in contact with him is through Ebay.

Well this weekend I got a little done. I installed the aerostar speedo cable that finally came, and I started on my new winch bumper. I got the winch cradle done, just need to add the tube this week. The winch is tucked up as far in and back as I could go, I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Who cares. It will be covered up by your roller fairlead. No one will ever know. :D I need a plasma cutter too haha

Me and a buddy went to the ORV park again and wheeled a ton. Truck worked flawless again. I need to finish my bumper though because I broke a marker light where a tube would have protected it lol. Oh well I would rather be wheeling :D
