My 2jzgte is here

I would have thought the ranger shaft would have been easier. just make a flange adapter to bolt to the transmission output shaft. If I remember correctly there is no slip yoke on the aristo transmission and very little extension on the driveshaft whereas the ranger shaft has a splined slip joint.

If i understand right the aristo slip yoke is by the center bearing where the two shafts joint. Also the ranger shaft is to short and i've been told that you can't lengtend a drive shaft it makes it weak by the welds.Lets say i manage to weld the aristo yoke on the ranger shaft won't it be a solid piece, doesn't the diff need a little movement of the slip yoke when the nose moves up and down. Also the shaft has to be made very preciese so it can be bolted on the diff and to trans out put shaft.

I don't recall how much movement there is on the aristo shaft but it's not much, but the diff is mounted solid to the crossmember so it dosn't need much, other than what is needed to remove it from the vehicle. The ranger has a solid axle so there is quite a bit of movement fore and aft.

Have you thought about mounting the rad in the bed with electric fans, giving you more room under the hood, as well as more cooling capacity (due to the lines going to the bed)?? Just a thought...Nice build, keep it up:icon_thumby:

I agree. More room under the hood would be good.

It's not a bad idea maybe for a race only truck but for a daily driver well for me it's just to much plumbing to run.I already manage to sandwitch the radiator + fan+ intercooler in the front. Thanks for the suggestion guy's.

:worthless:PICS!!! Dont forget Pics!!

Hey guy's whats up,wasn't around in a while didn't do much on the ranger either due to work and some other stuff also $$$ hahaha.Well the driveshaft and center bearing bracket is done, also i'm waiting for the oil filter relocation kit, water pump and a 3pc set of OD pulley's.Also might be getting a set of the USDM camshafts from a local guy for a very good price, the usdm cams are more agrresive than the jdm cams so why not. Here are some pic's from the DR.

Wow! Never thought I'd see one of these go into a ranger. Even on the tacoma forums I used to lurk there were only maybe five trucks that had a 2jz in them, three of which were owned by the same guy.

I'm very impressed, I can't wait to see it finished.

Hey guy's,i have some updates.Wel the 3pc OD pulleys are here + the water pump i'm still waiting for the oil filter relocation kit.One snag i encounter is that because this water pump is from a supra tt it doesn't fit the aristo water pump rear housing so i had to order one,to be able to do the water pump swap. Also i did some mod's to the stock fuel rail,i installed the aeromotive adjustable fpr i had on the ranger to this engine. So as i did with the fuel rail from the ranger i remove the stock fpr from the 2jz and weld a -6an fitting to it.Also i remove the fuel pump pulse damper so i also waeld a -8an fitting to the rail to connect the feeder line. This will help optimize the fuel flow some and aslo help to sqeeze the stock injectors some. Here are some pic's.
