Murphy, the one ton B2 build

I got a pair of 6" xj coils from another member on here, I believe they are rough country, they are 190 ppi, and pretty flexy...

kevin usually has springs for 120-130 bux at jeeperz brand new. 3-6.5 inches.

i will be here another week but could bring them to you if you want to save shipping. my little car is here now and it dont cost shit to drive it out of the way to go home, just dont know if i can drive that long yet due to some medical issues.

might take a day trip to flint tomorrow though..

Built some lower links for my front 3 link

They are 36" long, adjustable with bushings on both ends

I made some threaded tube adaptors, used 1.250 fine threaded rod and put them together, still need a jam nut

Thinking of using your old airshocks on the B2?

Right now, no, I'd rather use a nice coil spring.

Got the front stripped, axle positioned

Built the start of my 3 link, transmission crossmember, the center is removable for the trans

Set the wheel base at 100", pushed the front to the limits I think with the factory steering box.

Shot of the tire in the wheel well

Once I get the body lift out I think it will be a nice height too.

i would leave the body lift or split it in half if its a 3 in..

think i am going back home mon....want me to pick up some springs?

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm gonna try to use a set of eb super flex coils I have first.

While setting up the axle yesterday I set the driverside to negative 5* caster and noticed the passenger side didn't match. Look like it is twisted forward almost 10*

You can see it looking at how the tierod mounts line up

Debating on how to fix it. My first thought is wondering how it twisted, thinking at the pig, so I was thinking I should try and twist it back and then truss it. Second thought is to just truss it, build it, mount it up, then cut the welds at the c and twist that back and weld it back up.

Thoughts?

Along the lines of the second idea, but I would weld the tubes to the center section on both sides, set your pinion angle, and then look at the caster and see which one is closer, and cut/reweld the other C to match, then truss. IMO, truss should be done after all other mods, so the truss ain't in the way, and avoiding the possibility of having to remove the truss...

Not sure bout a fix for the bad castor in the front, but got some background on" Murphy" you might like.

Ever hear of "Murphy's law"? Pretty much means any thing that can go wrong will in fact go wrong.

My wife and her sister have a word for ugly, fat nasty people that my niece came up with years ago, its Murphy. When we saw this b2, all we could think was how ugly it was right now so that's what we named it lol

Hey now.....oh hell who am i kidding it was always ugly as hell :icon_rofl:, but it served me well for many years of fun and abuse.

I'll be watching this one.

Need any ideas on the color?
I'm liking the flat green on the new Mustangs...

:icon_rofl: He was given a great idea, this comes to mind :icon_surprised:

Back in the day, about 3 servers ago here at TRS, their once was a build thread for this thing circa 2005ish lol.

Lol, its not the best looking b2 around for sure, but I like it. It's lived a long hard life of a wheeler. I hope I can do it justice.
