Howdy,

I’m new, so forgive me if I do something wrong,
I have a 96 3.slow, and. 1996 5.0 exploder, doing the swap, I am
Currently test fitting the motor and Im need help on the motor mounts
I cut the original plates from the explorer to fit the v6 mounts and
I could tell the motor was too high, so I wouldn’t of been able to close
The hood, i found one forum and they used 1990 mustang 5.0 mounts and said it was a direct fit, but the bolts are too big to slide in the holes and I’m not for sure how far back or forwards to mount them.

If anyone could help, I’d greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

From what I read you use 94-95 mustang mounts or convertible fox mounts. I know they do sit lower than the stock rubber mounts

Using 94/95 mustang mounts is one of the easiest options. Swap them left to right. Open up the holes a bit and snug it down

Depending on the trans you’re using. You can loosely bolt the trans mount to the crossmember. And with the engine being held up. Mark the holes where the engine mount studs land. Open them up. A lot them a little if you choose. Then bolt it in. Easy peezy
