Yep. A rebuilt one off a buddy.

I'd like to buy a second 4.0 to build but I never developed any engine building skills.. Not saying I couldn't do it but I'd be nervous... Plus I read an argument on here somewhere about which pushrods to use with the comp cams that no body has seemed to put to rest with the correct answer.. Then there is the using beefier aftermarket heads thing then there is the is it cheaper to build a 5.0 instead?.. :icon_surprised::shok::icon_surprised:

I've always had the desire to blend the line and build a hopped up six. Since the engine management system is already there. I've put a chip on my PCM, the exhaust is built and I'm working on an intake solution too. I plan on figuring out the pushrods debate as well.

The diff had an issue with the order so I'm still waiting on that.

I just don't see the point in putting shorter pushrods on a highlift cam.. that would defeat the purpose and shorten the lift...but then again why not just use a longer pushrod to get more lift and leave the cam alone...... How is the chip working? I thought about chipping mine but considering its an EEC IV I'm not so sure I want to screw with it..

Pushrods dont change the lift amount, they only change where the rocker tip falls on the valve if you have adjustable valvetrain, if not you got to have them the correct length to
get the correct lifter preload for hyd lifters, the cam and rocker arms are the only way you
can decrease or increase valve lift

The comp 410 cam can sneak by on stock pushrods, but the 422 needs longer pushrods. In order to get the cam lobe profile they had to under grind the whole lobe to keep it smaller than the journal diameter.

Call Delta Cam and tell them what cam you have and they will get you what you need, or buy one of their regrinds. They are well known in the import world for inexpensive cams that perform.

And this is why I like TRS:D

Still here. The truck got to TLC last weekend. I tossed a new oil pressure sender at it. Re-did all the battery wiring (again) and put some new door seals on. Charging system running great now, all I need to do it get my KC's working reliably.

Bump the ol' truck thread a bit here!

Had a stack of decals at my work, decided to put them on the truck...

Then I found some more in my shop while working on the big block...

Then things escalated rather quickly after that...

Other than that the truck has been running pretty well. Gonna get the gears done here sometime soon too.

Well time for a little update. We finally got the motor done in the Heavy Chevy. Took about a month but in runs great in all it's open header glory. heading off to school here in a bit so I won't be turning any wrenches for a while but I'll probably be posting like a man on a mission.
