** I know I spelled sell wrong haha
So I might sell my truck for this: http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/2585204372.html
A 1989 honda prelude Si with 138k original.

I'd like something sportier and gets decent gas mileage. I'm going to look at it tomorrow, but i couldn't buy until I sell my truck.

Any prelude owners or past owners have any opinions on this car?

you disgrace me.... lol

If your truck ain't working for you, then I guess we could let you buy that. Maybe. :icon_twisted:

If you do buy that however, do me a favor and take that silly fart cannon off and install something a little less ricey.

but that's the "best" part of the car!

i know i'm hatin' but you do realize you came to a RBV forum to talk about selling the RBV for a RICER.. think about it

Amen to that haha. I'd pry go with a magnaflow or flowmaster, or something besides an ass cannon lol.

I've been reading up on these engines and learned that in most cases they burn oil. If this leaks or burns a drop of oil i won't have anything to do with it. there's no doubt that i'll be thoroughly test driving it haha.

plus i've heard they're really fun to drive so who knows.
It looks clean too.

That thing screams rice.
Your truck looks way better. hell im even saying it looks classier. the paint is way better on yours(color atleast)

a friend had one and always had issues with one of the carbs, seems like his had 2 carbs. Im not sure what year it was or when they went efi.

4.0BD2: I know but i was just seein if any of you guys have had experiences with them.

RSH: I know the gen 3's are fuel injected.
My favorite color is blue so... haha anyways one of the main reasons i bought the truck was because it was a great deal... And I do have a soft spot for rangers, but economically it makes no sense to keep it right now. I can sell the truck, get the car and have a good amount of cash left over for college, while getting mpg's.

Not gonna lie the gen 3 prelude was a car that I've always wanted so this could be my chance.

And who knows it may be junk and i'll stay with the truck :dunno:

I think most older Hondas do that, at least from what I've seen. I'd guess it's from being constantly over-revved by retards who think they have a race car.

yeah the prescence of a fart can may indicate that the previous owner may have thrashed it lol

im sorry, i know you like the car. i think is horrid. how on earth are you not liking the mpg of a 2.3? its not going to change much between vehicles. at least get another ford, not honda.

That engine is a b20a5 if I remember correctly and good for 130hp (non vtec). If it were me I would look around for a db1/db2 (2nd gen) integra with a b16, less torque but it revs out hard and has lots of options to upgrade with a base hp the same as that prelude, and you may be able to get one in the same price as that 'lude.

If you look at that one, check the sunroof, they are prone to not seating properly and leaking.

It has a big muffler, looks to be lowered a bit, smoked tailights, clear honda emblem and no power steering belt (to free up hp/mpg), all of which looks like it's being driven like an si should be. I'd be VERY surprised if it didn't burn any oil, every old honda I've dealt with has. Cars of that era don't typically hold their clearcoat as well as that one has, so check for body repairs and overspray, if you don't find any, thats a good sign, someone took care of the paint all these years and probably took care of the rest of it.

that little red mazda 2.3 truck should get pretty decent milage, it probly wont hit 30, but it sure would do better than say a supercab 4x4 with a 4.0

the reason the paint is so good is it was repainted in 09. and with the 30 in tires and 3.45's, my mpgs have dropped to 22-24.

and I'm eyein an 02 p71 with 136k as well. If the honda sucks than i'll get that. I mostly want something thats quicker than the truck cuz it's pretty pathetic lol. I've thought about 4.0 swaps but there isn't any good ones selling in my area.
