this is pretty inspiring minus the cutout bed

yeah, i really appreciate the advice youve given me i think i will just work on getting the 350 registered and mildly build it while running the 1/2 tons on my truck. someday if the f350 engine and trans blow and the body turns into a rusted tin can then maybe ill tear the axles out. i feel like im sitti on a gold mine with that truck.

What a truck to get for FREE!! I could never rip apart a truck like that, its to nice of condition. Why wont it be able to pass smog, what is it missing?

It's probably what it HAS that makes it a problem. lol

Likely a 460...

it just has the 400 m but i was told it probably needs new valve seats/seals but luckily here in nevada theres ways around smog if i registered it in a neighboring smog excempt county then i wont even have to worry about it.

allright so ive i got a new plan but i havnt really researched it yet. this truckis too cool to waste by parting it,and my insuranced quoted me $12 more per month for a third vehicle so i just cant let this opportunity pass. im planning on swapping late 70's f250 axles under it, and giving it a cheap lift and some 35s.
what do you guys think?
has anyone seen this done before?
im not that smart, im sure milions have thought of this before me.

So... you're taking out the 60's and putting them on your Mazda? And then putting in some 3/4 axles? Or what?

thats what im thinking about doing eentually, butfirst i just want to run the 1/2 ton stuff and get that finished wile i locate a cheap f250 or just some cheap axles. still not 100% sure though, i need more time to research.

Ahh, I see. Are you planning on going bigger power with your rig, or just real lowwww gears?

well on the mazda i want to put in a 302, and ive got 5.13s but i would gear the 60s lower if i were to put them in my truck, but the f350 i think i will keep it the way it is, i can only aford to put money into my mazda really.

I finally stopped crying!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we've all got those hard decisions to make. Having two trucks is just too expensive!:icon_surprised:

I had wanted to build up my Land Cruiser, but I've got an attachment to Rangers. Haha.:headbang:

allright time for an update. im putting a deadline on my project i want to have it finished by memorial day and go crawlin at moonrocks. pics are way past due, so far the rear is completely finished minus e brake cables, i built a roll pan out of the stock bumber for better departure angle, gas tank is setup 9much cleaner than before, and the front end fabwork is in progress.
i need some breakline ideas, for the front end
and im still figuring out what i want to do about the tracbar. it would be interesting to use a tracbar with a poly bushing on the axle end that way maybe i can still use the stock axle mount because im having trouble figuring a way to build a lower tracbar mount that wont get in the way of the lower coil buckets which i am moving about 3.5 inches inward.
also i was wondering if its a big issue to drive with 1 to 3 degrees of positive caster ? because iim trying to keep my radius arms pretty long and i want a few degrees of positive incase the frontend sags a little, it will become closer to zero but not negative.
pics soon
