Looking at getting another truck...

man nice truck - brings back memories of my buddy's 96 XLT....it was a dark green MACHINE!! it was the 5spd with the 302, reg cab short box..bought it with 152,000km on it, and in 2 years we put 200,000km on it! it was amazing. Drove the CRAP outta it too. Fun truck lol..he had a 4.9L before that too, good truck as well!

Ah common!..... What's wrong with wire nuts in the dash? :icon_rofl:

:icon_confused: Beats me... lol... I would have used a smaller wire nut though... those big house wiring nuts just don't work well...:icon_twisted:

Thanks! I like the truck aside from the trouble I've had with fixing up a few things on it.:icon_thumby:

So in theory my new gas tank is supposed to be here today... According to FedEx anyway.... when I ordered it I was told 5-7 days minimum, but it might take up to 12 or so... yea... ordered it Wednesday.

Hopefully I'll be able to get my truck fixed today... cross your fingers for me an sacrifice a chevy to the car gods, lol.

Got the bushing burned out without blowing myself up (remember, the rear gas tank that I'm working next to was leaking) and without setting the truck on fire. Waiting for the shackle to cool so I can try fitting my new bushing in, got my fingers crossed that it fits. Then I can drill out the holes in the frame an fit the bracket on and hopefully my gas tank will show up by then and I don't have a whole lot of trouble swapping that in.

Then I just have to get some leaf springs to build a custom pack with... lol

Got the hanger done and the truck is sitting back on it's springs. Gas tank showed up an I started working on swapping it to find that I'll have to cut two of the bolts with a torch, and yea... don't have any spares that size on hand. I'll take the truck out tomorrow an get some bolts an swap it when I get some time.

Oh, an Dustin, I looked at the front tank, it sure looks like the longer 19 gallon instead of a 16 gallon an it is an XL... Unless that was the tank that was replaced....

The 16 gal is long, but its also shallow.

later,
Dustin
