SAS Ranger that I am looking at getting.

He just can't do any type of offroading with those tires, so if you put some like 37's or somewhere in that range you would be set. As far as I know it is built well

What is booty fab?
Means you fabbed it out of your ass.
a.k.a. Ghetto-rigged
def. to fix something with duct tape or other cheap materials in a way that is also cheap, yet oddly clever

I like the "oddly clever" part.
In the spirit of equality, I note that "cracker-rigged" is on the same page. And I've seen some cracker-rigging down at Wellsville.

it is a 2wd!! the kid has a post on there now saying you need to swap the output shaft, and a t-case, and get a driveshaft made! it could be a cool truck but i hope you dont hang around any real men with trucks they actually wheel because they will laugh you right outta the group.... that truck couldent keep up with a stock 4x4! what a huge waste of money! i smell big truck little ---- syndrome.

its waste of a 2wd and hes asking 7 grand jeasus i wouldnt pay over 4000 unles he hooked up the 4 wheel

I agree. Walk away from it. It is and or will be just a list of problems for you. Unless you know the person who did the work, plan on redoing the truck, or don't mind fixing someone elses short cuts, don't buy a modified vehicle. No matter how cool it may seem; he's selling it for a reason. I have a love hate relationship with my truck; I hate it sometimes but I built it and built it right so I don't want to sell it.

It doesn't look like he reinforced the frame at all from what I have seen.

Large levers in the form of springs and axle on a stock C channel frame = scrap metal, when the frame twists and bends and finally breaks. It's a okay street beater but it'll never be a off roading truck.

Here's his post over on Ranger-Forums. Seems like he wants it gone pretty bad.

Sorry for the late response. I was in NJ all week for business.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think that the truck is super sweet looking, but its coolness is probably sheet metal deep.

I had seen it, and then I saw that it is within driving range of my home, and I was like "gotta have it".

Thanks though for talking me out of it as it would just be another project of which I already have too many.

But........

If I did want to buy it still, even with what we know about the truck, what would it need to be a solid driver and decent off road? parts, money?
With what we know about it, what would it be worth?

Um well first it would need 5.13s in the front axle to match the rear and then it needs a t-case and driveshafts and a couple lockers... You'd be much better off investing your money elsewhere...
