Looking at a engine swap from a Ranger to a Scout

Progress update

I pulled the 152 completely out of my Scout today. It is now setting on a pallet. Put the V6 on the cherry picker and set it down into the engine bay. It fits nicely. Have to build engine mounts for it, move the transmission crossmember back about 6 inches, and modify how the radiator mounts. Very simple modifications to get it to fit. Took before and after pictures. Put the V6 back on the pallet so that I can get the valve cover gaskets replaced and the engine cleaned. Hopefully within a month, the V6 will be permenently mounted into the Scout. Going to have to do some slight modification to the transmission and transfer case shifters, but that is pretty simple too. In the picture of the rear of the V6, it is not centered with it hanging on the cherry picker. It is great that the weather was beautiful. Makes working outside so nice. Have a great rest of your weekend everyone.

Get the Jeep i-6. Easy install and more than worth it. Plus easily hooks to the most stout t-cases you could ever want. I am talking 258 (4.2l) i-6
