I have a 1999 Ranger 3.0 4x4 with a seized engine. I brought it to my mechanic and he quoted me $3,000 for a junkyard engine swap. That sounds a bit expensive to me. I'm not capable of doing it myself, as I don't have any of the necessary space or tools. I'm willing to purchase an engine, transport my vehicle, and pay someone who can complete this project in a relatively short amount of time for substantially less than my mechanic.
I would like to get a low mileage Taurus Vulcan and do the head gasket/fuel injector/rails swap, as I cannot find moderately priced Ranger engines through car-part.com.
I live in Northeast Ohio, in the Eastern suburbs of Cleveland about 20 minutes from downtown. Any help is greatly appreciated in pointing me in the right direction.
Thank you,
Ben
