I found a short bed on CL, it matches my truck right down to the pinstripes...

I've been wanting it inboard my leaves, which would make the wheelbase cha.ge super easy...

So do I keep the long bed, or make it a regular cab short bed?

I've always been partial to the "look" of a reg cab long bed.
Never enough to OWN one, but they do look very nice.
My vote is stay long.

Its a wheeler. It would be stupid to keep it long bed

Depends on what you do when you go wheeling.

I like the length of mine because I don't wheel to screw around, steel fence posts fit with the gate shut and wood ones only stick out a foot. Dirtbike sits in there straight to the world, three wheeler fits easily with a toolbox in front of it.

And above all... lots of room for deer. :icon_thumby:

85_Ranger....I wish there were a "like" for posts... so... +1 my redneck friend...

Well... There is a shock hoop with $250 worth of shocks sticking up through the bed, also there will soon be an 18 gallon fuel cell, and a battery back there. Gotta get more weight towards the back, rear traction is terrible.

So... No bikes, loads of firewood, or deer.

just cause its a long bed doesnt change its wheeling capabilities. its the same as an ext cab short bed ranger, same frame.

im a fan of shorter beds. too bad you weren't around here, just saw a short bed on craigslist for $100 with tailgate.

not even close

I would cut the bed down. Gets a better departure angle, and depending on how much you cut it down; it is still quite usable.

This is a friends Ranger before:

The one I found here locally is $150 w/o tailgate and lights. Clean & matching. I'd barter some, if I do decide to get it.
