Lifting my 97

44, Your truck will be fine provided there are no tornadoes......

Yeah, that'd usually make a difference.lol. However a few days ago we had a T-storm produce 70mph gusts. I must not have set my parking brake fully...my truck was moved about 20ft. Nothing like coming out of the GF's house and wondering where the F@$# did my truck go!:fie:

Holy steering angle! Guess that "extreme drop" arm wasn't extreme enough?

Anyways, the truck looks pretty good.

I'd gotten the chunk outa my truck today. I took both beams out, so I could remove the carrier, shafts, etc. My truck looks so naked up front. I also wish i could just order a damn lift. It'd be nice having the axle out and and all.....:dntknw:

Yeah it would be nice. Consider it a practice run for when you do lift!

That is just a normal drop pitman arm.

Here is how it sits now.

I swapped in the other coils that I had.

It was too low so I added my coil spacers and its almost perfect now.

nice Tim. Saving up for the big drop pitman? and running the 8" coils later?

u know what i say your an asshole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truck looks AWESOME!!! great job tim!

HAHAHAHAHAHA, Thanks man.

I will run the 8" coils when I build some extended radius arms. Till then they are gonna sit on the shelf. I really dont want to drop 200 bucks on an extreme pitman arm. When I get the radius arms in, I will see how it sits then decide what to do.

I say if you're gonna drop big bucks go with a super runner kit, or just make your own like in that other post with the "homemade" K-link.

I've heard too many stories of the extreme drop arm putting a little too much leverage on the steering box and actually pulling the bolts through the frame.

I have heard of issues with that and of flexing and cracking the frame.

My bigger concern would be actually breaking the sectorshaft of of the steering box because short of welding it, there is no way to get off the trail when it breaks.

Hey Tim... DMV's been open for like 4 hours. You should have registered that thing, and built 2 trucks by now.

Naww, just taking it easy today.

I just sold 650 dollars of catalytic converters and scrap metal so I am in a good mood.

I will be registering the truck later today and then getting it aligned tomorrow.

An extra $650 dollars in my pocket would put me in a good mood too!
