Lifting a 94 xlt 4x4

OK, I understand

What if I put the explorer leafs and leave the 2" block what can be done in the front to make her level?I'm just asking because it would be nice to have a little lift:D

You'll probably need a complete 4" suspension lift up front if you want it level with a 2" rear lift (Explorer springs).

I saw on the skyjacker website that you can buy just the coils for a 4" lift, would this work. I guess I will also needs shocks front and back to compinsate for the lift?

if you do that you wont be able to align your truck, plus your tires will be like this \ / you need the drop brackets.

Ya, I didn't think of that. I guess for now I'll put the explorer leafs in the back and the spacers up front. The front will sit lower for now but I can live with that. So with this set up I should be able to run 31s with no rub?

Do you guys keep the stock shocks all around?

Keep a look out for a used set. They frequently pop up in the for sale section

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open. Is there no way to get 4" in the front without a store bought kit? Using parts from the scrap yard?

Well I checked the tag on the inside of the door and the axle is R6 and from the charts I found in the tech section says thats 3.73 Limited Slip. Guess that means it will transfer the power to the tire with the traction and not spinning helplessly in the air:yahoo:

I would like the truck to sit level after the swap so what is done in the front to compinsate for lifting the rear?

Do the stock shocks allow for travel after the lift front and back?

What size tires can I run with zero rub after the lift on stock 15" rims?

Thanks for the responses

What you said about having one tire spin helplessly is still gonna happen, a limited slip doesn't help very much (UNLESS its been recently rebuilt then it helps a LITTLE) but I can guarantee you if it hasn't [been rebuilt] that your limited slip is as good as an open diff and you will in fact spin a tire as soon as it comes of the ground. Limited slips are sorta half/ass in my opinion, they can work good if they are freshly rebuilt and tight, but they wear out quick and they never really provide 100% lockup. Sorry to burst your bubble.
