I have a 2003 ford ranger 3.0 V6 XLT 2wd Automatic transmission and I am wanting to lift It with a 3” or maybe a 4” lift. I also want to put some bigger, more aggressive tires on it with the lift. Could I do this without having any problems or without running into clearance issues and such? And what kind of fuel would I be sacrificing

A 3-4" lift will let you run substantially bigger tires, both of my old 2wd rangers would fit a 30" just fine at stock height. You could likely fit a 33" with no trouble lifted. However, you'd more or less be required to regear the axle to 4.56. You could choose not to of course... but the truck wouldn't hardly be able to get out of its own way.
