After I did my D35 swap, I cycled my driver side axle to check clearance with the plate bracket. The measurement I got was 71/2". Does that seem excessive, even with a 6" lift? I mean 71/2 + 1 = 81/8" my static hight between the axle and the frame is about 91/2-10" that only leave 1-11/2" of travel. Am I getting this all wrong, or am I really that limited with the plate style bracket?

PS. anybody want to sell 6" skyjacker or duff pivot brackets?

That's about all you get with the plate brackets. The RC bump stop brackets I got drop the stops about 2". They're no where near when it stops.

Actually, I don't hit the plate, it's the springs just being too stiff. The truck doesn't weigh enough to flex them. My suspension will lift about an inch when I jack under the coil to say change a tire, then just picks the whole front end up.

What springs are you running? Definitely need the SJ or Duff brackets (I think BDS has proper brackets, not sure if they sell individually). And different coils most likely.

You definitely need the skyjacker drop bracket. The drop plate WILL put a hole in your front diff. You also might want to look into some softer coils. Skyjacker are about the softest OEM application out there.

Here is my TTB highly modified with skyjacker drop brackets.

Engine hoist... you broke that one nicely...

But yeah, anyone (including myself right now) with a plate bracket is just waiting for a porous diff housing. And when it happens we won't be having a good time.

^ Lol damn Harbor Freight POS anyways :thefinger:

IMHO, Spend the extra $250 bucks or so and save yourself and other people waiting on the trail the hassle.
