My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
Does anyone make a quality LED Shop Light that actually works and stays working?

I have probably 20 of the Honeywell brand that I've picked up at Sam's Club and at least seven of them are now either not working or are at less than half luminance.
Honeywell offers a five year warranty, but I think you have to return them to the factory with receipt. I have not tried to return them to Sam's.

Thanks.

I have these and they are bright as all holy hell and made for industrial use but they ain't cheap....

Been in my shop for about 10 years now and have gotten wet from the roof leaking and they still work.

I've purchased stuff from them in the past.
If you add up the $25 each for the 20 that I have...
I could use three of these and get the same amount of light.

I'll put them on my watch list

How long have you had them vs what is the rated life? I know LEDs do wear out over time, they could just be nearing the end of their useful life cycle.

The ones dirtman listed are rated for 100,000 hrs, but probably are not as powerful near the the middle or end of that time.

That's still about 18 years to be at "50%" life if you're running a shop 8 hours a day. Mine are near 10 years old and no duller than when I got them except for the coating of grime on them.

I don't think they work that way though, I've never seen an LED bulb get dull unless it was a problem with the circuit board or power supply.

I have I think 16 of the Harbor Freight 5000 lumen lights in my shop, got them when they were $18 each and they're working good for me but I don't have a lot of time on them since I put them in in December? They're still working good, they're pretty bright, I'll post a pic or two when I get home tonight. I got one of the 5500 lumen lights from there and I don't think it's worth the extra $10, I got 2 different lights from BiMart (local chain) that you can see the individual LED's and they aren't quite as nice as the HFT lights...

Time will tell, at least the wiring I have up now is universal, I just put 6 duplex outlet boxes on the trusses...

I put new T8 fixtures (4' x 4 bulbs per fixture, 8' long) in my shop a few years ago and LED T8 tube bulbs. It was definitely NOT cheap, guessing I had somewhere around $700 into the project but they work very well and none have dimmed or gone out. I don't trust any of those "shop lights" where the bulb is part of the fixture... guaranteed to cause problems in the future.

This is a great LED trouble light (as we used to call them) and rechargeable as well.

Here's some pictures of my setup, 36'x48' shop, everything is 12'. I ran two rat runs long ways just to have something to hang lights from... Pictures are in random order, some at night, some in daylight, the very blue light in the first picture is the fancier HFT light...

Thanks, if it just had power running to it other than an extension cord I'd be set! I can't get any electricians to return my calls... not that I want to pay the super premium for wire right now anyway...

I'm an electrician and I'll return your calls. But I'm too far away to come and do the job.

Yeah, I could call in some favors, but the budget is shot... I gotta keep the permit going though so I need to get the plumbing part done at least... I probably need to just call the power company and figure out how many amps my service is to start with... Ideally I'd get a new panel on the house and have a main there to give 100A to the shop, but I need a new panel for the house to do that (no main right now), and apparently I might need to move my panel (exterior unfortunately), and if I have to run new wires I might as well bury it, etc...

I have the Costco LED shop lights and they work great for me.
