Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

or just weld some small brake line tabs on top of the arms to keep them in place. That is what i have planned this summer.

The nice part about the tube is there will be no chance of catching it on anything, it is guarded. I really like SVT's idea, but I really don't want to drill holes in my arms....I plan on beating on them and I don't wanna add a chance of breaking them.

Or allowing mud and water to get in, sit in, and rot over time. Esc since your welds are not painted on the inside of the tube.

I got ya, the same as factory. I will keep it the way I have it for now. The problem I had was the hose clamps holding them in place. When I came down on a rock and slid off, it rotated the clamp, in turn rotating the line into 'the danger zone'. I just gotta do something that wont allow it to rotate. If I continue to have issues with it maybe I will do something different.

Now if my spotter knew what he was doing.....lol

Hey wait what :icon_rofl:

Just think, when we were on that first obstacle and you were getting into it..........and your spotter said "we'll save this one for later, lets go around" just think, you could of potentially ended your day like Ozziemoe did......before it ever began.

I wasn't talkin about you, just razzin' ozzie, he's kinda a tart anyway:icon_thumby:

I was just poking fun since I was spotting you early in the day lol. Atleast my hands weren't in my pockets lol.

I think I did ok for my first time! you didn't flip! Teach me then! :thefinger:

Ahhhh just givin ya a hard time LOL

You will learn grasshoppa

I got to thinking about your brake line issue... why not plate your RA with 1/8" or 3/16" and then drill through both the small plate and the arm? :dunno:
Just spitballin'.

And what, run the brake line inside the arm?

What about just angle iron running the length of the arm, maybe just small 1/2" angle to guard it.

you can do that, I'd run 1/4 fuel line over the brakeline and inside the angle iron to protect the brake line from rubbing/rupturing on the angle and RA....

I wouldn't put any hole is in the Radius Arms. While if you live in the desert I think it would be fine. but living in MI you would get water etc into the arms and the welds and cuts are not protected on the inside and you could potential rot them from the inside out.

Good news, locker is fine, everything looks to be in place.

Bad news, ring gear is broke.....F'n yukon gold.....

Actually, if it was drilled the size of the fitting, painted, then attach the fitting to the RA with a jam nut or threads, etc, it wouldn't be an open hole, and that is what my idea was....

As much as I would like to, nope, not on this rig. I am gonna build up my Explorer Sport with 1 tons for my next build. Now I just gotta keep this one together long enough for me to save some money to gather up some parts!
