Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

You should heed your own advice on that one.....

yes Dustin, you know all about my 11.5" tires on my 9.5" rims issues....:D

and I won't have that problem with my new ( to me ) rims and tires :D:thefinger::thefinger:

You gonna air down with them?

Yeah yeah rub it in.

I ran 9psi a couple weekends ago and still didn't see any flex. Probably try 7ish next time.

When I had my Iroks, I had to run about 5 psi, 37 x 12.50 on a 8.5 wide rim...

Can i get info on the 60 with radius arm set up? Im interested in this because i want to put the same deal on my truck.

can you use the search button?:dunno:
I did i found a set up on the john deere themed ranger but it was just pictures not any info, i do know you have to grind the wedges a bit to fit on the tubes, but id like to know the spots on each side youd have to mount them at.
Just watch my build, I will show ya lol

Been watching this build since i joined, love it!

google it or check out FSB lots of info out there, not a lot on this site.

you might have posted it earlier, but what year d60 did you get? you plan on cutting the driverside perch/housing back to give yourself more room for the wedges? do you plan on linking the rear or keeping leafs?

It is an 87. Yes, I am going to remove some center section/spring pirch and reweld it but not much. At this point the rear is gonna stay leafs by if I find a good deal on the parts to link it I would. I really want to back half it.

I guess in simplest explanation, and how I did mine.

I have a 95 D60 so I had to clearance the drivers side housing to make enough room to fit the wedges on the tube. I got some wedges from a 77 D44 housing. I had to take a grinder to the inside surface of the wedges to open them up so they would fit on the d60 axle tube. Once clearanced, I loosely attached the wedges to the axle then loosely bolted the radius arms with the bushings to the housing. I had my rig on jack stands at ride height. Positioned the axle under the rig in position (with the tires bolted on) and mounted the radius arms to the chassis. At this point I measured my caster on the axle and had to turn the axle housing up to gain my caster where I wanted. I achieved this by using a floor jack on the pinion yoke. Its moved easy enough because the wedges were not welded to the tubes yet so it allowed it to spin. Once in position I tack welded the wedges to the tubes. Disassembled and welded the wedges home on the tubes and reinstalled.

Adda boy, that is the way I plan on doing mine too, thanks John.

If you are really wanting to, and the box will be demolished by the end of this season :thefinger: just go on and do it. I am sure you can find the parts to link it.
