Koda's Zx2.

good call on the timing belt. just had to get one changed in my grandmothers car a couple months ago, hers didnt even have a ton of kms on it.

if those are LED lights, you should be able to leave them on all the time, they dont take much power to run.

Dont know if you mentioned it or not, but if the car has high miles, I would definitely be puttin a timing belt in that thing before she breaks. Got to do all kinds of fun things to replace a broken one as opposed to changing one out.
Not really, it's a non-interference engine so I don't have to really worry about anything other than changing it and making sure everything works right.

They're cathodes, but they use the same (if not less) power than the LED's. I'm going to run a higher gauge wire to my fuse block, I'm not comfortable with 16 gauge wire connected directly to the battery. Once I get that done I'm going to order a pair of LED bars for the rear and a couple slim LED lights for the trunk and the dome light if I can fit it in.

I also have plans for a Billet antenna (mines huge) and a seat swap. I'm sick of not being able to fit in my car, and I've heard that Protege Mx3 seats fit nicely. I will probably go with them, or if I can find a full set of leather zx2 seats I'll settle for those. If I save some money I can get them redone in a shop, I would buy a set of spare seats so that I wouldn't have to leave my car there. The second image is what I'm thinking about.

Now leather Mx3 seats, that would make me happy. I can do that for $20.

Looking pretty good Koda, keep it up.

Sorry, wasn't referring to engine damage. If the timing belt breaks, I think there's a couple of special tools you need to get to get everything lined back up right. There's a special bolt that goes into the back side of the block and there's a straight edge that sets into the cams to line them up(no timing marks on the gears?). Have to take the valve cover off, might have to pull the cam gears off to. Been a few years since I've done one that broke, so I don't quite remember off the top of my head exactly how its done. The last one I did was intact, so I just used a grease pen to mark everything.

Besides, a timing belt kit(belt and new pulleys) is about 100-150 bucks. Do you really wanna risk gettin stuck along side of the road in the middle of who knows where for that? Just one man's opinion.

Anyways, keep up the good work. Good to see it's comin along well.

slap that guy ^

fart cans sound sick on automatics. trust me. ugh.

lmao i wasnt serious at all. an escort with a fart can would be about as gay as elton john. i had a zx2 for a while, it was a nice car it got great mpgs and it was a blast to drive. i always thought it would be neat to someone stick a focus svt motor in one tho.

I've seen zx2's with both of that done to them. I'm tempted to throw a supercharged focus engine in it when mine goes, but there's too much rust. The zx2's don't get good mileage though, I average 23 when our old escort wagon achieved 45+ on a regular basis.

are those red and black seats brad's? they look familiar...

oh and the mx3 seats are awesome. they sit about 2" shorter than the stock seats, and they are a direct bolt in.

I wouldn't mind having the extra work done up to it, but I don't want to spend money on the car. I'm just driving it to kill it honestly, I'm putting an insane amount of miles on it, then I'm just gonna sell it and buy an F150.

Probably his, I dunno. I saved it to my computer when I found it because I liked the layout. Thanks for posting that picture of the mx3 seats, I looked around for one to post up but I couldn't find one.

I ordered that micro USB the other day. It's shipping from China so it might be a while.

Also, my girlfriend kicked the passenger side cathode (hopefully on accident) and it's broken, so I'll be ordering a new one at the end of the month.
