Koda's Zx2.

wow, you go to walmart, and pickup a 4 gb large for about $30 or so =P, and I might pick one of those up from HongKong myself =) goodluck keeping me from losing it XD might put a piece of ducktape on the end to make it more noticable.

Mine stays in my stereo, only time it ever comes out is when I have new music for it. They come with a little lanyard but I wanted mine to be slightly hidden on there.

They are REALLY easy to lose though, I lost it for a couple hours somewhere between field stripping my car of everything valuable before leaving it on the side of the road and putting the USB back in my truck.

Took the plates off today.. turning them in on Monday.

When I fix this car I think I'll get a new paint job. The color might beLEMON.

>.<

It makes it harder for people to drive around illegally with no registration or insurance. As soon as you have a lapse in insurance on a vehicle your notified by the DMV to turn in your plates.

I think they tried that in PA, but not sure... we kept the plates from CA, still have em in my room and in the smoke-house (aka GameRoom), my truck still has plates, and hasn't moved more than about 10 or 15 yards for almost a year and a half now!

I'm going to see what laws I could be breaking by leaving a plate on my Zx2. My town has an ordinance that there can only be one vehicle on each property in view that doesn't have plates. Mostly because some people have 2-8 junk cars.

what the heck? i'd put up mesh fencing and move there! I got a truck and a car without plates =)

If you’re over 60,000 change that belt. Trust me if you don't it will fail at the most inconvenient time possible. The belt in the pic below I keep around to show customers that parts do wear out and eventually fail. It is from a customers ZX2 that had 102K miles. Notice it is missing many teeth that allowed the motor to jump time in turn leaving him stranded and needing to get his car towed to my shop.

You are correct that the factory 2.0 DOHC Zetec is not an interference engine.

You will need a timing tool set to do this job, pm me if you want the ford service procedure. I recommend the OTC set you can get it cheap for around $30 The OTC part number is 6486 and it consists of a flat bar (don’t try to use just any piece of metal buy the proper tool, this is precision ground to ensure proper cam position) that is used to lock the cams into position, and a pin that is used to hold the crank at TDC. I never use the pin as it is a total pain to get to the plug on the block where you are to install it. I use a dial indicator with a magnetic base reading off of a 6 inch 3/8 drive extension inserted into the spark plug hole of cylinder number one to find exact TDC. The pin helps hold the crank in place when you set your timing belt tension, but I have never had any problems with the crank moving from TDC. Just make sure you take your time, read and follow the instructions to the letter and you will be fine.

intake valve seat separated from the head on cyl #4. after it broke into little pieces, it made it's way through the intake into the other cylinders destroying the spark plugs and probably mangling the pistons and cylinder walls... dont ask how i know...

LOL seen to many times, its a shame to because the motor usually warns you before the seat breaks apart as it will start having a heavy intermittent misfire. Most people pay no mind to this sine of imminent disaster and just drive until the motor starts making its own custom cut pistons.

Heading out to the hardware store. I'm hoping they have a bolt to match the one I lost. If not I'll be going to my local Nut&Bolt guy. And if he doesn't have it... 40 miles to the junkyard.

Wish me luck.
