Koda's Zx2.

I've had a couple. Not really rice though, one guy was in an oldsmobile and I tricked him into getting a ticket for speeding. He had to have been doing 80+. There's a spot in town where I know cops always sit around the bend and this guy flew up on my ass. I brake checked him a few times and we came to a two lane going up the hill. He started to pass me and flipped me off so I chased him down and kept pace with him for a bit but when I saw that blind curve with the pull off coming up I slowed right down. He was an out of stater so he had no idea, just kept on going. After I went around the turn I saw him slamming on his brakes and a cop burning rubber out of the pull off.

I've raced a few guys on my own terms when I know there's low risk for a ticket. No ricers either, just regular guys who want to see what their car can do just like me. So far I've won against a Taurus and something else, can't remember what. The Taurus probably had the 2.0 SOHC engine and is twice the size of me, so it was obvious who was gonna win. You can't really call it a race it was more of a "who can accelerate faster from the stop light" kind of thing. He only got to about 60 and I did maybe 70 tops.

I don't like speeding more than 9mph over, my insurance is high enough as it is.

Good plan. I had 8 points accumulated in 2 months before. I was paying 425 a month to insure a truck that only cost me 350 a month. :dunno:

Right now I'm down to paying 204 a month with my insurance. I'm young, male, drive a "sporty" car, and I have two collisions.

A month later and I'm finally getting that dash kit. It should be here Saturday. I won't be buying from that guy again.

Anyway, I'll be installing it Sunday and then I'll have pics up either same day or Monday.

Finally got that damn plate that I was waiting a month for yesterday. So I started work on my dash. I got it done last night around 11pm, because I had to work and didn't get done in time. Of course it had to be cold out the one night I'm without my heater controls. I was going to do a full install write-up/video for another forum, but my camera messed up and half of my pictures disappeared. So here's a before and after.

After!

If you ever change one of these, you can get it out a lot easier if you unhook the hvac controls on the drivers wheel well. There's a white tab that sticks out, with the controls all the way on cold push it away from the center and it will pop right off. Pushes right back on when your done.

looks good
the plastic looks a bit cheap, but does the job
nice pioneer

I smashed my USB today popping the trunk to grab something quick when I was on the passengers side. My elbow caught it. It all still works fine but the usb thing is busted up. A guy on another forum I'm on suggested one of these when I was talking about how I wanted a small USB drive for my car.

I'm ordering it as soon as my insurance statement arrives and I know how much they're stealing from me this month. Here's the one I'm using right now, bought it from walmart and it's pretty tiny.

I cut the cathodes out of my truck today, figured since I'm not driving it for a couple years why let them sit? I found some mounting locations in my car but I still have to do that. I've also got to find a spot to run through the firewall, the only grommet I'm aware of is right behind the fuse box. I'm not rednecking this one, so I'll find a way through. So far today I ran wires for the ground to the cathode and switch, drilled a hole and mounted that switch, and ran a switch leg to the cathode location. Everything tucks in out of sight which is cool, and I found a inconspicuous location for my switch that was also very accessible so I'm happy about that. I made sure I could reach it with the seat belt up like someone was sitting there and I still could. It's an easy rocker so I just have to slide my hand over it.

Outside of the switch.

Here's the ground location I found.

The ground location works good because it's close by, I ran about a foot and a half of wire to the switch so I didn't have to unhook it every time. This is going to sound weird but the mounting location for the ground is the mount for the console cover where my switch is mounted.

It was hell getting the power wire through, I had to slice a hole in some foam sound barrier stuff and poke it through, then fish it out with my finger. I found a good mounting location for my auxillary fuse block as well, but I haven't gotten around to mounting it or finishing the install yet. I think I'll go do that.

Oh, and once it warms up it will be time for new paint in these spots.

I still don't know what to do about this. (paint cracks) Any ideas guys?

Finally got those cathodes running. The damn switch was what was holding me up. Advance auto sold me a bad one. I ended up pulling one of the toggle switches out of my truck and wiring it in, I like it better because it's easier to get to but I can only fit maybe two in the location where before I had room for up to six of the black switches. I'm going to check out some low profile switches online and see what I can come up with.

Pics whenever I get around to it.

Also, I'm going to be looking into ordering one of these once I figure my dome light out. I don't know if one of those will work, so I may have to find something else.

Not going to chose one in a color, it's going to be white. I'm considering a red one for the trunk.

I went with an auxiliary fuse block instead of an in-line fuse. It was about the same price. This one uses mini blade fuses. The location is on the side wall in the drivers wheel well. Don't worry, it's more level now than it is in the pictures, this was just me mocking it up to see if the location would work.

I like.

Dont know if you mentioned it or not, but if the car has high miles, I would definitely be puttin a timing belt in that thing before she breaks. Got to do all kinds of fun things to replace a broken one as opposed to changing one out.
