Koda's Zx2.

that pioneer looks awesome man!!!
i preffer pioneer over xplod, xplods look a bit ricer with chrome buttons lol
i always wanted the P1Y pioneer. but im happy with the one i have now, it has green lightning so it goes perfect with Ford's green dash lightning lol.

Only thing that I hate about the Zx2 being more sporty than an escort, is that it's branded with a "Sporty" insurance bump up. :annoyed:

I'm paying 230 a month now for car insurance, on JUST my car. Truck's off the road until may.

Holy crap!! I pay 20 a month less than that for full coverage with a 200 deductible on a 2004 Ranger, 2006 Tacoma and 2006 Altima SE-R. Plus add in 30 a month for the 175hp Suzuki Bandit.

They dropped it down to 200 a month for 2010, I think. That's what last months was anyway. We'll have to see what this month was when I get my bill.

Got the stereo today, it looks slick. I can't wait to get the rest of the parts so I can install it.

Oh, and RSH, guess what.. the stereo has TWO colors. It can switch over to...........

GREEN :icon_thumby:

Hit a snag today. Advance and Napa don't carry the PCV hose. I wish they had told me that when I bought the PCV. Instead the dumb kid behind the counter told me they were out of stock. So I bought the valve and said I would come back in later for the hose.

Now I'm looking around online and I still can't find the damn thing. FML.

I pay $160 / month for my house, 04 Mazda6 and 99 Ranger. $230 seems pretty high for and economy car. Are most insurance providers the same for you? Maybe someone else might not clasify it as a sporty car.

Any other insurance carrier has quoted me at 300-460 a month for my car. Technically it is a sporty car, because it has the DOHC engine and is called a "sport coup" in Fords books. It's not the same as a regular escort with the SOHC engines, they get 30-45 mpg while I get 23 on average.

I have discounts through state farm because I have had insurance through them for a couple years now.

I've got the harnesses wired up and ready to go in. Just waiting on that damn dash plate to arrive so I can finish the install. I'm starting to think I'm getting wenzled but I'll wait a few more days before I drop the w bomb on the guys thread. After I got done wiring it all up it hit me that the Escort and the Ranger use the same harness. Both of my CD players are Pioneer. I could have just taken the harnesses off the ranger and put them in the Escort, plug and play.

I'm also fixing the PCV tomorrow, since I have the week off from school. If that doesn't fix my idle issue as well as the trouble code, I'll be ordering a new IAC from somewhere and installing that.

WHOOT PCV FIXED THE PROBLEM.

I'm all good to go. Maybe I'll spend that extra 120 I have laying around for the IAC I don't need on some ford racing wires and have a little extra left over for a new socket set.

Cancel that. PCV valve fixed part of the problem.

It still has the idling problem, just not as bad. And my trouble light popped back up. I'll be dropping into advance today if I remember to borrow their code reader and see whats up. Might still need that new IAC, but I hope not.

Wish me luck.

Cancel THAT too.

Damn shop that I took the car to didn't change the whole hose, they only changed half and spliced it. They relocated it so they could get to it easier since it used to be under the block sort of, and when they did that they made it easy for me to trace. I followed the old section back and there's a dime sized hole in it. I'm going to call the shop tomorrow and let them know what's up, and get them to fix it. I paid for them to do something right and they did a half ass job.

i hate when shops half ass stuff on my truck..thats my damn job and they are taking my fun away

How do you like the exhaust now that it has settled? The 99 escort sedan sport:headbang: will need something better than stock when I get my hands on it:stirthepot:...at the end of summer:annoyed: damn sister

I love it, it has a nice rumble to it when I'm idling (when it's actually idling, not stalling out and sounding like a fat retard) and then when I rev it's louder than hell. Really helps me convey my mood towards people. I had a guy in front of me at a stop light and of course my car is almost stalling, he sat there after it turned green and I beeped at him. As the asshat drove away he flipped me and my girlfriend off so I revved my car and flew up on his ass. The guy freaked out and whipped it into a parking lot.

And I love the looks I get from people when it's running right, I pulled up to a stop light in town and there was some people in front of the rite-aid. They were checking out my car. It looks pretty nice with the sun roof up and that exhaust making a nice rumble sound. Then it started to mess up with it's damn idle issue and almost stall, and they looked at me like I was about to explode. Once I get around to saving money instead of spending all of it I'll fix it up properly. I need to fix my chipping paint next to my doors and then I'll look around for a set of rims. Winter's officially over soon and that means no more studded tires. I want to find a nice looking set of 15" rims to throw my old tires on. If I can't find some by the time studs are illegal I'll just throw them back on the stock rims and pick up some steelies for winter. Kmart has a nice set of wheel covers I could slap on them..

Another thing I need to do is either re-clear my head lights, buy new stock ones, or buy the aftermarket set I've been looking at. I plan on driving this car non stop until at least May of next year, and then that winter following so any money I put into this car I'll enjoy for a while. Right now I have 50 dollars of spendable money, so I'm broke. The rest is being saved for a couple car payments if I lose my job, and is the minimum of what I need to continue going to college. ($400 gas money till may) This week I'm getting paid 140 or so, which is good because my car payment is only 79. I'm going to pay 100 because I want to pay it off early so I'm left with 40 dollars. You would be amazed at what an extra 20 each month can do. When I sell my trucks aluminum cap I'm going to put half in for extra on the loan and the other half for a rear axle for the Ranger. I'm going to look into a side job (quarry work if I have to) to help supplement my spending habits. I want to buy a new set of craftsman sockets next month.
