Keyless Entry Problem

Alright, I have a 1998 Ford Ranger, I recently(4 days ago) received my new keyless entry remote. It worked for the past few days after doing to sync process, but today when I left work my remote wouldn't unlock my truck. The key unlock worked fine so I figured it has de-synced or that it had a short battery life. When I got home I tried a new battery and re-syncing to no avail. When I do the sync process the locks still lock/unlock.
Any ideas if what could be wrong? Answers ASAP would be great, thank you.

Do you have another vehicle that you could use to test the remote?

I don't. I thought trying it on a 1997 would work but that has a different programming entry. I checked fuses, tried the old remote, which is severely damaged, and still no work. Probably due to the damage. Any possible problem with the truck? Other than fuses?

You could have a faulty GEM or keyless module.

What did you pay for a factory remote?

$8 in total. I'm just going to send the remote back and say that it went faulty in a couple of days, and they should send another one out.

So you know nobody with a 98 or newer Ford with RKE?
