Just Plain Stupied

thanks men.......I goofed around with the modified alternator bracket today to get back into the groove.....LOL.....I got the bracket shimmed & the belt lined up ......see what I mean (VA drugs).......the pulleys all in line for the new alternator belt....

Everything looked good from underneath.....it's easier to get to the engine/bracket/bolts on a '36 from underneath......problem ws...I had the alt. bracket on up-side down

O.K......I' wait til everybody gets thru laffing.............

That's enough!!!!!!

I finally got everything pointed in the right direction an hour&59 min. later....

Will try & wrap it up tomorrow.....(I herd that b4!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Thanks for the encouragement men........over&out.....

Me thinks you need to change your avatar to something a little more "updated". Keep up the good work, you're getting real close now, can you taste it?

LoanRanger......long time no see.....no work/no money.....too much work/no time to modify RBV's, SUZ's, Bronc's!!!!!!

The eigt...eif...eight...8th time is a snap on the alt. belt.....did I mention that the '36 grill is tapered 24" narrowereerrr than the '89 grill????

So when I moved the body back an 1&1/4" to get the tires centered in the wheel wells......it left no adjustment in the alternator (fix one thang....re-fit to...2... other thangs!)......

sooooooo....I pulled the assy out/undid/modofied/redid it so the slack can be taken out of the alternator belt......

Let's see what pic loads first....hmmm....I gotta round off those fan blades (they were an inch too long/had to snip em in place....talk about a noise when the 2.9 first fired up b4 I noticed the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))

Jest enough room for the alt..........

People p.m. me about the truck & where I got the parts......

I bought all the parts (except the steel bed) from:

Classic '36 Pickup..........also known as Thoroughbred Coach Works .

The company is real....i drove to So. Florida to be sure it was real before I bought any parts over the internet.

The parts can be purchased individually or in sets......all the way up to a finished turn-key truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as the cost.......parts thru the company are less expensive than other places....

They also offer 3 different cab sizes!!!!!!!!(base model cabs are in the 5-$6,000 range...reasonable considering they never rust/considering nobody else, to my knowledge, builds them)

Hope that info helped.....

Enough of the advertisement.....back to the garage!

EDIT: They go for around $40,000 Turn-Key, loaded/V-8 SBF/electric/a-c/Auto/leather/lots of etc's......or build it urself for LOTS less

EDIT: you know how to tell when the alternator bracket/braces are modified good enough......

I'l tell u anyway:

1. the alt. belt stays on above 6800 rpm. (who needs a V-8 when they got a screamin 2.9!!!!) (where's that nitrous kit i orders last week?)

B. When you pull on a pry-bar placed between the alt. & the engine........the engine moves on the motor mounts.....

B-a-a-a-a-a-ck to the Go-----rajjjjj........
